Actually, to be quite technical...

Poser: A 3D rendering program (that sucks), someone who strikes poses, bands such as KISS, Poison, Warrant, etc. who have their little "poses" they strike during performance.

Poseur: Those who adopt an image that is "cool" in order to gain popularity.

So Avril, Good Charlotte, etc. etc. etc. are poseurs. Avril was thrown into Hot Topic chic as soon as she was signed because angsty little girls need a hero. Good Charlotte, whether it was the label or them, have also become the epitome of mallrat pop punk. And everyone who says "UH UH! They're really punk! That's who they are!" Punk is not hot topic. If they were "punk", in the true sense of the movement, they would not look as they do. Original punk, as soon as it was commercialized, cannot exist as it did. The spiked hair, piercings, and all that was for one not what punk was about in the first place. Look around, all that isn't even anti-culture anymore. Is it really very shocking to see some guy with a bunch of holes in his face and green hair? No. So who are they going against? No one, but the image is all it takes to say "Look, we're so totally punk".

And people who don't know any better buy into it. Look at everything Good Charlotte has. They have fuckin' school supplies with their name and logo on 'em! Be and play whatever you want, but they're still obviously cashing in on the "cool" factor for angsty teens. And that's a poseur.

Yet again, that doesn't necessarily make someone a bad band. One does not go with the other. It's just a fact. What they are.

But now I shall rant about:

Drummers

Alright, we finally got one. One who can play because he has a set. One who has played since he was 8. We have a full band now. It rules. So, now, I shall focus on our last drummer, who will now take over vocals.

He was a lazy son of a bitch. His family is nice and active, but he doesn't want to do a damn thing for this band(drummer-wise) until he starts working. So, Mike and I had a nice little chat with a much more experienced kid, and we've signed him on. Funny, actually. He has a 12 peice set, can play, and he's the shortest kid in the band. In 9th grade, to be more precise. He's a little under 5'1".

Our other drummer, whom I have referred to as "Drummer", will now be known as "Vocals". To clear up any confusion.

For those who may remember my rants about a month back on how the former drummer had spent 140 dollars on a CELL PHONE instead of a drum set, this won't be any more new to you than a Guns N' Roses routine show. Someone always fucks up. Usually Axl, but hey, we like the dude anyways.

Exact same case here.

Drummers are extremely hard to find. At least for me. In Charleston, there are hundreds of bands that need drummers. Bassists can be hard to find, but if you know guitar, you know bass. So just buy a bass and amp, remember what you learned, and jam. There are thousands of guitarists here. No shortage of bassists.

So Vocalist was slated to be our Drummer. Moment we had the cash, we would buy the set, set it up in my room, and let him practice.

Well, go figure, he didn't save up for it AT ALL.

It was me and Mike that started this whole band. It was slated to just be 3 people. We planned it, we had the logo designs, we had the inspiration(Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine) to become a finely honed hard rock machine.

You know who was holding US back.

Then he told another dude he could join us. Another guitarist, in fact. I interviewed him, and his plan was this:

"I want to do the solos. You do rythyms. I'm probably better at it than you. No offense, you know."

Uh...offense taken. In truth, my improvised solos would knock him out of a bar set or an actual stage. He can go on for 2 minutes, tops. I can go on for 9.

Well, needless to say, he wasn't added on, but he stuck close to the band members, as they were then, and would comment as necessary. Not a bad kid, but often, too cocky for my, and Mike's, tastes.

We finally had to discuss the band's future in front of Vocalist and Reject. We told Vocalist that if he didn't buy a set soon, we would start a search for another drummer and he would be out of the band.

Reject replied with this statement: "You can't kick him out. He STARTED this band!"

Oh did he now? I thought it was me and Mike. Guess I was wrong. My bad.

Well, after we sorted THAT out, we started the search. Interestingly enough, it came out dry. Yeah, they were all either guitar, keyboards, or bass. We have guitar and bass, and we DON'T want to use keyboards. Mike and I both hate them.

I cut a deal with Vocalist. If we found another Drummer, he would take over vocals. Mike, the new drummer, and I would take over our individual instruments and do background vocals. I would write lyrics and my own riffs, verses, and chorus.

We found a new Drummer.

Vocalist is now extrememly psyched and is commenting on how the band could be set up.

I'm not following him right now. I don't want Keyboards, Mixing Boards, or 1 other person to make us more able to cover Guns N' Roses songs. Neither does Mike. We planned this band out for the 3 of us, and adding on a new drummer because the old one didn't do s**t for us budget-wise was NOT part of the plan.

So Mike and I are discussing our own plans, proposing them to each other, then TELLING Vocalist how it WILL be done. No arguments. This time, we have a lock on him. If he decides to quit, I'll take over vocals, and we won't lose a drummer.

Check and mate.

It's more of a rant on Drummers who do NOTHING. Not even supply the band with material. A lesson should be taught to all who wish to start bands:

Get a drummer who as a damn set and respects you enough to actually WORK.

Awesome. Our drummer bailed on us, so we're totally screwed, because there ain't s**t for drummers where I live. I dunno what's gonna happen. man. Might have to ask one of the guys in my band class... heheh...

I'm not totally thrilled with the "return" of the beastie boys. I hate their music and hate them as people. They are fricken stupid and a waste of T.V. veiwing time. Grrr....

wow... never knew there was a seperate spelling of the two... I've actually learned something! I'm proud of me... heheh...

What make of guitar do you have flea? Or did I misread?

Squier Stratocaster, but my favorite is my Yamaha. I'll use that more often.

It's held together by duct tape. It's my baby.

This new drummer is going to get us started, finally. I'm actually pleased with this.

My current rants have been about Emo and the pronounciation of the word. Yes, there is one girl who insists it's "eh-moe" and not "ee-moe".

I say they're both right. Oh well.

Emo has been my main rant of late. I don't think I'll post it here because, well, Fallen's works the same way.

I rant about the following

Reality 'lets make popstars' TV* In terms of the UK*
Trance
When actors try to sing
and
Rap/Rn'B

Firstly it just pisses me off that some people work really really hard to try get a record deal then a bunch of losers who can't really sing appear on some TV show and one of them instantly gets a record deal then again a lot of the finalists also get a record deal. After that they get a no.1 purely because they were on that show. Finally its OK maybe having 2 different lets make popstars TV shows but when its like 1 every 4 months its bloody ridiculous, incredibly boring and very annoying seeing them get no.1s when other groups or singers with talent barely make the charts (that are really going downhill over here.) and if I watch it, it's only to see the idiots make a fool of themself early on. That said out of all the reality TV stuff I hate those programmes the most.

OK some trance is OK but a lot I hear sounds exactly like another track or has some woman who sounds like some other woman in another trance song singing meaningless dumb lyrics or messing up an old song. Also nowadays a lot of crap trance makes it into the charts over here which is one reason you can't really rely on the top 10 or 40 even anymore. And some trance I hear it just sucks! like my sister who listens to trance that sounds like the bloody chipmunks sang it or scooter stuff like that.

OK you can't be 'really' good at two things so it proper annoys me when an actor tries to break into a singing career or a singer tries to break into an acting career. It rarely works. Dammit why can't they just understand that they can't sing or in the singers case can't ACT and don't they already have enough money?!

Rn'B mostly its all I seem to hear I can't escape it and it mostly sounds the same. Boring. My sister plays it full blast every morning so you try to like it when you're trying to sleep and the 'popular' rappers just have no talent to me*cough* 50 cent*cough*. There's a group over here called the streets and they are the worst band i've ever heard they rap but they don't do it with any style the guy purely just talks while some music plays in the background! And people call them talented and everything.

So those are the things that annoy me mostly to do with how pop music and singing is like the only important thing in the UK. Do they make such a fuss over actors or artists? NO!

Take Jennifer Lopez back, please! She's not that good. You know what the big problem is with actors singing? They're actors. Their career is based on memorizing and saying lines [i]written by other people[/i] and faking emotion.

People who don't write their own lyrics in general annoy the crap out of me. Such worthless pieces of shit.

The beastie boys... as I said, I'm not too thrilled. Why they even tried to make music is beyond my comprehension. They are idiots but at list they are man enough to walk into public with the crap they pull. They must have balls.

who else did I want to bitch about... oh yes, Muchael Jackson! Sick child molesting pedifile dumb f**k. I hate him. His music isn't all that great ( he had some good songs... and at least we wrote them... I think...) and he is disgusting. His nose is gonna cave into his face for crying out loud! He makes me sick! I remember a kid in my english class last year saying that Michael was gonna be black again when he got out of prison and start rappin' instead. He was a funny kid, I gotta say... heheh

There was a Hilary Duff concert in Portland I think and my little step sister would not SHUT UP about the damn concert. I swear, if I hear "Come clean" one more time I'm gonna strangle someone... I hate Duff too. She just pisses me off for no apparent reason except that she is a greedy money loving ass-kissing bitch...

I bought my squire from a friend of mine. But It had to have a new neck put on it. Her mom went and took a hatchet to the guitar... I wasn't very pleased to say the least... but It works. I was looking at an Epiphone the other day. Can't remember exactly what make it was... Pretty nice, but I like mine anyways. Besides, I'm broke. Rolling eyes

By the way..it's Lindsay Lohan. Hilary Duff is female, and Simple Plan is simplistic.

Intelligence is a nice thing to use right now. For example:

Hilary Duff is terrible because she sings off key about things that make no sense. "The lights off, now the light's on"? Who wrote that garbage? She just doesn't make any sense lyric-wise. She's simply way too "teenybopper" for me to respect.

Contrast to:

Yellowcard is beginning to make me twitch a little. I'm not a fan but I had no issues with the band until the girls began to fall completely in love with them.

They distract them from Avril, but it's becoming a striking issue. The good old "THEY COMPLETELY RULE ALL ROCK" ploy has come alive again. Fiends...
