In someone's defense (I don't even know who anymore  ), the idea came from a different thread, and it was assumed that people who saw it would understand the connection.

Very little actual punk is talked about here because it's too much trouble. Even if you specifically say ACTUAL punk, no MTV pop punk, you still get people posting "I luv Avril! She's, like, teh best!" Grr! Starting individual topics about a single artist works, though. Unless no one's heard of them.
Let's bring Taime Downe here and see what he thinks.
Laughing I wouldn't put him through that.
But then again, do we really want to end up like Metal-sludge?
Yes. Cool But that would require 97% of the members to leave. And 99.99% of the topics gone. And a whole lot more cool people. And a new color scheme.

Sludge is the only place you can talk about Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, and Michael Monroe and most people will know exactly what you're talking about, good or bad. Plus there's (for the most part) actual informed opinions ("They suck!" with reasons to back that up). Good times. It's a completely different environment, though, and it's nice to have FAC to contrast it. However, my meanest posts are usually after I've been on Sludge because I forget to take the aggression down a little. Razz "Suck my cock" may be a perfectly acceptable reply to an idiot on Sludge, but it's not quite the FAC vibe. Laughing

Mandi: Are you serious? They're the most generic form of nu-punk out there, how can you not see the resemblance? Ok... define punk without naming any mainstream bands, we'll see what you think "punk" is.

Nothing that a soundtrack for the Forum can't fix. Seriously, FAC needs a soundtrack to play while we "debate" (and I put "debate" in quotations 'cuz y'know how that turns out) on certain topics. I suggest Welcome to the Jungle 'cuz it does get a little crazy here. And lots of 80s hair metal. We'll attract cool people and maybe convert a few unknowing people at the same time. Cool Oh, and Flea's song should definetly be on the soundtrack. Cool It just sums up the way a lot of us feel so its only fair. What do you think Flea? Very Happy
"Suck my cock" may be a perfectly acceptable reply to an idiot on Sludge, but it's not quite the FAC vibe.
What the hell are you talking about? Its perfect for the FAC vibe! In fact, I dare you to say that to next person who peeves you off. Cool Preferably the next person who says "GOOD CHARLOTTE ROX MY SOX" or something along those lines. Wink How 'bout this...if you tell someone "suck my cock" I'll tell someone to "bite my Slash humping ass bitch!" But only if we're that mad and I'm sure a trip to the UnModerated section will be most appropriate. ^_^

What were we talking about before? I don't even remember anymore. How sad is that. We do argue a lot with people. Lol! But they start it so we might as well roll with it and finish it. Wink

Well I have said "suck my metaphorical cock" here, but always followed up with something to make an actual post and not useless input. But on Sludge, it doesn't matter. Razz

Parodies go over pretty well there. However, almost all the parodies are changing songs to be about washed up hair metal dudes, but same thing. Like "7-11 Isn't Too Far Away" (changing the Warrant song "Heaven" to mock Jani Lane). And some Christmas song parodies last month.

Anyway, on with the song...

its so funny when people argue over music. its like the "my daddy is stronger than your daddy" argument 5 yr olds engage in.

by the way it fun to make your own music. if you play an instrument try it sometime if you havent already. go wild! whoot!

 No it's not. Music is just as valid a thing to debate over as any other topic.

its futile. you cant argue with strong opinion. its not like one side is just going to say "oh ya know youre right. i have bad taste." Rolling eyes please. the best thing is to say i agree to disagree, list the reasons why and be done with it. the last word isnt always the wisest.

What fun is that? Know what? I really don't care what anyone here thinks. Don't care what Flea likes. Don't care what you like. And I assume no one cares what I think. The fun is in the argument. In the coming up with responses and how to counter something. If I really cared about convincing anyone, perhaps agreeing to disagree would be the best, but that's not why I bother.

I don't expect all the Avril fans to suddenly go out and buy LA Guns albums. It's all about the back n' forth.

Which is why I get so irritated by the people who have no opinion they can support and are unable to understand the concept of backing up an opinion. . . . .

I love Danger Danger. Where'd you get that I don't like them? A lot of my favorite bands are in the same genre. Hell, so is Faster Pussycat.

Actually I'm rather impressed you even know who Danger Danger is, let alone like them...

I'm loving the debate my topic has sparked...
I should post some more, but I don't feel like it. Not today.
