YAY MORE, haha I am incredibly lame, but thats okay.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 69 Eyes
Alice Cooper (ha, "Schools Out")
Alkaline Trio
Bad Company
Blood Sweat and Tears
Blue Oyster Cult (AHH WAS GONNA SEE THEM ON THE 4TH TOO... what a horrible loss. So they did "Dont Fear The Reaper" really good song in my opinion. H.I.M. Remade it, it wasnt bad either)
Bobby Darin (listen to "If I Were A Carpenter". And think folk)
Breaking Benjamin
The Brothers Four (folk)
Buffalo Springfield
The Byrds (prob. mentioned them)
Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band (Haha, they're awesome. You have to listen to them)
Dave Navarro (yup I'm a fan, have been since he first came out. Plus he's 'pretty' in a "Hey I'm a dark vampire" kinda way)
Dimmu Borgir (for those "metal-head" types. And if you are one and dont know about him... well shame for you)
The Doobie Brothers (As if the name doesnt say enough?)
Gale Garnett
Glen Yarbrough
Grand Funk Railroad (ahh could have seen them too! For any possible Simpsons fans GFR is Homers favorite band, haha. "We're An American Band" is a classic. And a good Album too. --I'm big on albums--)
Harry Belafonte (haha "Day-O". You prob all would know him just from that song)
Ill Nino (more spanish/english "hard rock")
Junior Senior
Katy Rose (shes like 16. Writes her own music and can play guitar and drums and do ballet... I think I'd consider that interestingly well-rounded)
Kingston Trio (folk)
Nothingface
OK Go
The Pattern ("Worse All The Time" and "Finger Us")
Rachael Yamagata (check out her website. I like her.)
Sinch (ooo man havent listened to them in forever...)
Starsailor
Ten Feet
Trini Lopez (folk)
The Vandals
Vendetta Red
The Village Stompers (folk)
We Five You (folk)
Weavers (folk)
The Wonder Who (folk)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Random bands; not alphabetical:
CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Dispatch
Dredg
Gravity Kills (personally too techno for me)
Kansas
Three Dog Night (you prob. know them even if the name doesnt ring a bell)
V Shape Mind
Yngwie Malmsteen (wow... woo guitar. I just have to say, try to see him in a video form... its insane... watch his hands.)
Live ("Sun")
Mollys Yes ("Fall Down")
Primus (I think someone else mentioned them too?)
John Popper ("Miserable Bastard")
Jimmie's Chicken Shack ("Pure")
Stroke 9 ("Letters")
Long Beach Dub Allstars ("My Own Life")
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy ("Big Time Operator")
Tonic ("Future Says Run")
Oleander (yeah twice sorry but listen to "Stupid")
Methods of Mayhem (listen to "Hypocritical")
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats enough for now... anyone who wants to, feel free to IM me with AIM or Yahoo! But do AIM if anything really, I'm always on (AIM= HIM4life88 Yahoo!=Mj1584)
Tell me some more music, really, please do. |

So its funny that I know a large portion of the hair bands [per se], haha. Gotta love 'em, really. Yeah I was going to include some in my lists, but figured 1) you'd know who they are and 2) they might be too well known anyways. So its weird because about 3 days ago I was gonna check out Hanoi Rocks so I definitely will have to now. Its weird... not having to type out a whole list of bands... actually being able to TYPE. Ha... how new and exciting... |

I like this new guy.
Yeah, I mentioned Primus. Kick ass bass.
I'm out, almost.
Hey, Fallen, the drummer just wised up. He's forgetting the phone. We have half the sum for the set already.
Rollins Band
Dinosaur Jr.
That's almost it for me. I do have more, but they're all local and without demos and CDs to pick up. No sites or audio samples either. As far as I know, Inside Out is the only one.
I like Michelle already. Nice choice in music. Very nice. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Indeed. That's a fraction of my list, but after that it gets into one-album, barely sold, never gonna find a copy groups.
And definitely check out Hanoi! Michael Monroe is the original glam king. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
I like Michelle already. Nice choice in music. Very nice.
That kinda makes me feel all warm and tingly inside ^_^
Ha, but yeah, thanx on that comment. You should like me ha, just kidding... sorta, ha.
But seriously, you figure, if I'm gonna use the term "Music whore", I might as well live up to it. Most people who know me know how disgustingly infatuated with music I am, hah. And many agree that I would be perfect for a record store... except my mom, but thats because shes crazed... theres just no helping her now...
But I definitely remembered some people I should have put on here... its a shame a forgot EXACTLY the ones I already forgot...
So I've been working on my guitar skills for a while now, but I really wish I knew someone who played. Like either 1) NO ONE PLAYS or 2) the ones that I know who do ARE ASSHOLES. So really thats just not tempting for me. And it would be really awesome to start a band... 'god' knows music is my life... but its kinda odd trying to mix someone who loves The Doors, Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, and then like Guster and classical music too, and I mean hell I love Sinatra and Crosby and Louis Armstrong too, and then a bassist who loves Tsunami Bomb and Aerosmith too, but ha thats still a weee bit difficult... who knows what could happen though...
Plus we'd need a drummer... damn. |

Well, as a sorta mini bio, I'm the guitarist/vocalist for a band called Inside Out. The links are in my sig to the site and forums. We have our own drummer issues. You might have caught that earlier in. I have a Squier Strat I got dirt cheap from Musicians Friend. $129.00. Can't beat that.
Our bassist is inspired by Primus' and Flea of RHCP. I was inspired by Tom Morello and Kurt Cobain. Jimi Hendrix played some influence there, too. But I heard Morello and Cobain first.
I live in Charleston, S.C. Nice bars and grills to perform at. We probably will start off at a bar not too far from our houses called the Wolf Track Inn. They get some good acts, though.
Oh, yeah. Greenwheel is good, and so is Black Lab. Again, both are liked for guitar.
Sublime
Stone Sour
Two others. You might know Stone Sour.
Nonpoint
Kind of like Rage Against the Machine here. Awesome guitar. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Ahh I LOVE Jimi. Honestly. I have his "Are You Experienced?" Album. And it was my very first album. I praise him, ha. Actually I refer to him as "god" quite often. Pisses off a lot of bible bangers ya know. Yeah... that prob. is mean... but... it happens?

Fallen, what you said about kids who say they like punk rock, I do the SAME EXACT THING I ALWAYS ask if the like the Ramones. lol They never know who they are
Yes, Michelle is pretty cool and I happen to be a fanatic of some of the bands that you stated EX: Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues,Bad Company, and Blue Oyster Cult theres more but I think you get the picture ^_^
Has anyone heard the song "Satanica Romantica" by Incubus, Sucubus? It's really good. I know a million people have heard of them but Black Sabbath and System of a Down are so unique and they rock sooo much. Everyone needs to listen to them. Oh and Jimmi rocks!
Oh and I've been playing the guitar for a little bit more than a year now if anyone cares. ^_^ |

You know how great it is to turn up your music loud enough so that your Bible toting neighbors hear the truly Christain elements of:
Some free Rage Against the Machine lyrics:
Lights out
Guerrilla Radio
Turn that s**t up
or
Like the troubles in Appalacia
Like the priests that f**k you as they whisper holy things
Then, a little Nirvana:
We can have some more
Nature is a whore
Who is on a prude
Tender age in bloom
and
She should have
Been a son
She should have
Been a son
It makes them mad when you say, "That was "Been A Son", a song especially for YOU" and point to them.
We have a band called Matter here which is supposed to be cool.

Or they go "oh yeah, man, they're awesome!" Really? Cool, what's your favorite album? "Uhhhh...I dunno, dude. They're all good." Well name one you really like. "Uhhhh, jeez I can't pick." Uh huh.
More along the lines of "I heard of the Sex Pistols once, and I don't really like them, but I'll still say I do because I heard they're really punk!"

ahh the sex pistols... top-notch punk indeed (for those who listen to them)
and yes michelle, you have good taste in music. breaking benjamin, unwritten law, the riddlin kids, the cure, the shins, the verve, sleater-kinney, letters to cleo, dimmu borgir... you have made me happy on this day.
o and dude calling harvey danger a one-hit wonder is really putting them down. they are one of the most amazing bands i have ever had the pleasure of hearing. his lyrics alone are enough to take your breath away... buy where have all the merrymakers gone? and you'll see what i'm talking about. i simply can't tire of them- they are so incredible. and reel big fish should make you want to prance around (yaaay! skanking!). they're one of the best ska bands around (that i know of, anyway), and they're pleasantly infectious, if i do say so myself. their shows are very fun...
gah i wish i could be around here more often... i'm missing all these great discussions... dammit! _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

O_o You consider Greatful Dead and Jimmi Hendrix One-Hit-Wonders? I disagree. Jimmi Hendrix had so many popular songs EX: Red House, All Along the Watch Tower,Foxy Lady, and Voodoo Chile to name a few. Greatful Dead had quite a few that were popular as well. Although I can't think of any at the moment because I am extremely tired and I'm going to sleep soon. But tomorrow I shall! ^_^ |

Ok, you don't have to name punk rock bands.
Hendrix was a one hit wonder, by the way. He was that good. That's how he made it. One person saw him on stage and saw him do his tricks(playing with his teeth, behind his head, etc) and sent him to London where they loved him and put himon the radio instantly. Trust me, he was a one hit wonder. It isn't an insult either. If people like you so damn much that you're instantly a hit, you must be doing something right.

They only had one hit on the charts, pookie. Look it up. A popular song is not automatically a hit.
And one hit wonder is not an insult. It's a fact. A state of being. Only one song made it onto the charts. End. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Few people know the name of Jimi's last band before he overdoesed(accidentally), so I can name it.
Gypsy Sun and Rainbows(he wanted it to be called Band of Gypsys, as well.)
Hell, if my band could be a one hit wonder, I'd be freaking happy because it would mean that I'm getting paid! _________________ Not all who wander are lost.
