eh... im going to a concert today. its Billy Idol, Jimmy Eat World, Sum41, Taking Back Sunday, Unwritten Law, and the format. eh... Im not much a fan of Billy Idol, neither Sum41. Im looking forward to taking back sunday. Last year it was Social Distortion, The Used, Lost Prophets, My Chemical romance, Chronic Future, and Ozo Motli *vomits*
(in case you dont know who Ozo Motli is, if you have ever heard the ipod commercial where it says something about Saturday Night... they do that song.) Last year it was hilarious because there was lemonade with lemons in it and somebody was throwing the lemons at them.
so IF you were going to this concert... WHO would you go for?

Billy Idol. I'm still pissed he's not playing anywhere near me this year. One of my favorite artists, in Gen X and solo.
That's a fucked up group for him to be playing with. I hate everyone else on that list. I'd still go for him, though. Suffered through worse. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Lol, I'm a loser, I'm listening to Sum 41 as of this very moment.
Heheh, I'd go for nobody up there. The only group I wanna see in concert is either Led Zepplin, The Ramones, or the Doors. And that wont happen so tough!
Everybody is probably flicking me off for listening to Sum 41/The Ramones/Led Zepplin/The Doors. So in case your wondering...I listen to any kind of music, all except Country, Jazz, Classical, Hip Hop, Rap, and pop. |

well.. i went and it was kickass. taking back sunday was really good live, and Sum41 was ok. Billy Idols new song disturbs me... it sounds like he is saying " im on my lemon tree, my mom will make you cry!"but the other songs were great.
there were WAY to many preps there. I saw atleast 7 preppy girls with The Ramones Tshirt on, but THE WORST was seeing a prep with a sex pistols shirt on.
and fallen... if you think you could last... billy idol was the second to the last band on. last was sum41. |

I've sat through worse. I'd suffer through almost anything for Billy, and at least he wasn't on first. The fact he technically opened for Sum 41 is sick, but whatever makes the trendy brats happy.
"Scream" is a great song. "Climb up my lemon tree. Make me scream, all night, all night long" _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Thats sick! They probably got the cheap ones from Pac Sun too.
Although I like Pac Sun, I just don't get poser band shirts there. |

Idol, no joke. I thought he was sexy back in the day, a little older now though, but still sexy!

I don't hear it around here at all. But I don't listen to the radio (current stations blow) and have cut way down on VH1 as they became too much like MTV. That's one of the reasons I don't listen to the radio, I can't stand things being overplayed. Even on the "retro" stations, they play the same fifty songs over and over. Last I checked, the 80s station played Madonna and Def Leppard, and that was about it. I got sick of Photograph and Hysteria real damn fast.
I want XM, though, just for the Boneyard station.
Do you have Billy's entire album by any chance? There's a lot of great stuff on it. Was "Scream" the only thing he played off it? On his own shows, he's been playing about half old and half new. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I'm pretty sure his newest album is called the devil's playground. They play one different song, but they barely play it at all. I've only heard it once. I think my friend has the album... I would like to hear his other stuff.... must be good.
VH1 is so much like MTV now, all they need is a rip-off TRL show... |

I've had it since the day it came out, and it is indeed called Devil's Playground. I was just curious if he was playing the same amount of new songs in a festival atmosphere as he is on his own. I imagine, despite the fact few people know them, they'd do well there. Most of the new album is closer to his Gen X stuff and very punk influenced. His older hits seem rather out of place with those other bands. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Well, at the concert he played mostly old stuff, I asked my friend if it was old or new stuff that he was playing and he said old stuff, but I couldn't tell because I don't know that much about his music... i really want to listen to the cd. i bet its really good. |
