This Idea is so stupid it's genius, it's for those of us who cant afford Xbox live yet still want the ability to use stealth tactics and hide from your opponent. MoutainDewroo and I thought it up. There only difference from X-box Live is that your opponent is sitting right across from you!

What you need:

Halo 2
A relatively small Tv
Post -its (Preferably super sticky)

This approach, unfortunately does not work on the original Halo, for is has no vertical split screen abilities. These insructions are for Halo 2.

First, so this will work, depite how small your Tv is, set the video option to Widescreen mode. THis will make split screen tornaments verticle.

Then, set up a basic two player split screen game, with who ever sitting with the TV to his left to have the left side of the screen. He will have to be the Host. He'll be considered Player one. The other player will sit oppisite the host and be player two, therfore Having the right side of the screen. Where the contollers a plugged in is not relevent,

Once the game is up, it's time to set up the Post-its straight down the middle! They shoud be two by two; attached as close to the middle of the screen as possible. Then when the are all the way down the screen attatch more post-its to the post-its at the base to make the "Post it wall" thicker so that you cannot see the other side of the screen. It's imprtant that you see nothing of your opponent's side as if they were two seperate TVs. Take a look at the primative example below.

But why go through all the trouble?....well as silly as this idea sounds it's most definitely worth your while! You can unleash a whole armada of tactics aganst your enemy. You can Hide, sneak, snipe, watch, and stalk your oppnent, all of which are impossible with normal split screen. Your motion sensor is now you most valuble asset.....you walk nervously around, having no idea where you enemy is.....them BAM!
You are dead intantly! That unmoving tank was occupied and you had no idea!

Post it Halo was suprisingly exiting and we couldn't get enough of it! It saves money on Xbox Live, too. The only drawback is that it works only with two player mode and you have to be sitting at an angle with your TV. And sometimes the post-its fall off.

The Players sit on oppisite sides of the "Post-it wall" and therfore are compleatly unaware of each other's actions. The only clue....perhaps...is what the other player is doing with the controller.

Try It!

Dude, we did this sort of thing way back in the day with Goldeneye. Except my friend jacked into the hardware and ported it to different tv's. I don't know how he did it, he's a computer wizz. Then we set up carboard between the screens. ^_^

Jeez, What crawled up your butts?

But yeah, I was kinda expecting a reaction along these lines. I just wanted to get the Idea out. For Norman and I, It works so well. We cant afford to buy Two xboxes, two Halos, Broadband, and Xbox live. And I was crazy enough to think we weren't alone....

it will make you wish you had a decent pc with ut2004 so you could play some GOOD multiplayer games, that require precision and skill, and that look 10 times better, and have a 1000 times more options.

And it leaves ugly glue marks on your screen. And i'm not exactly sure about this but the screen is staticly charged, so it might mess up the screen if you put it on for very long periods of time, where the energy can't escape. Not sure what happens exactly, maybe it's just another BS story, but I heard it more than once. But it leaves ugly glue marks on your screen.

And it's a waste of post-its...

But as Lexar said, UT2004 is much better than Halo 2. But precision and skill... perhaps not. Very Happy It does take mad reflexes and memorization though - along with dual video cards and a T3 connection. Razz

No it does indeed take more precision. Console games need controllers to point the crosshair, so aiming at the general direction usually is good enough, but ut2004 without auto aim, and a mouse is much more precise. And with double jumps, boostdodges, walljumps, adrenalibne boosts and shield gun jumps, not to mention liftjumps and translocators, the proper movement itself is very difficult for newbs to master, not to mention the weapons.

maybe he has old 3dfx cards... and a LOT of them too, if he wants to run ut2004 on 3dfx cards Laughing

Oh wait.. the drivers aren't compatible...

Okay maybe he has dual 3dfx cards and runs ut2004 in software mode.

That, or he has SLI.

Must have cost a fortune too.

With the post its....
Yes, they can be potentially harmful to the screen. The screens are statically charged and if they are covered in post its, the image of a post it could be literally burned onto your screen.
This also happens when you've paused a game for a certain amount of time and the pause screen causes everything to cease moving.

Only normal stickers do that. If the 3M had made faulty post-its that left sticky messes anywhere you put them, they would have gone out of business a long time ago. They leave no evidence of their existance once you take them off! Even "super sticky" is clean.

Hmm... I'd like to know where you heard that! Sounds interesting...
