it depends completely on how much pictures are currently awaiting approval and how many site helpers are busy on it..
don't worry though it'll get on eventually ^_^
and in due time you'll get on the automatic approval.. which means your pictures will go straight into your list without waiting...

EN1X is correct. Many people mistakenly assume the 8 hours is a maximum; it is not.
