Kiss, a great band, known for their makup, and Gene Simons's long tounge. They have cool music, one of my favorites, but not my ultimate favorites. They rawk. _________________ Wyat Fucking Earp! |

They're alright for what they are. I only have one album and don't care to buy the 8 million others, including the fake live albums, but their well known hits are ok. The makeup and show and overall image of KISS is cool, but they're such a joke now.
1 - Take off Ace and Peter's makeup, douchebags. Sure, it's just "the characters" people love, but no one would like it if Paul left and someone else started wearing his gay star and lipstick. Anyone with commons sense should know that's not Ace and Peter, so what difference does it make whether they wear their own makeup style. Keeping the originals is just saying "You two didn't matter as people, just a character, so we can replace you and no one will know the difference". You don't see Paul and Ringo hiring two lookalike actors saying "It's just the illusion of John and George people love, so it's the same thing"
2 - Farewell means you're going away! They're almost worse than the Rolling Stones in this department, only the Stones keep giving audiences a good time. KISS keep threatening that it will be the last tour, but it never is, and fans have figured that out (note bad concert attendance last summer). Either shut up and tour every summer, or do a farewell tour and leave.
3 - Gene, you have enough money. KISS may be a shallow, low talent band of theatrics, but that's no reason to turn it into purely a marketing angle. Try coming up with a new album instead of a new brand of KISS Kondoms
But on the plus side, their stage show is still pretty good. Lots of pyro and confetti, and Paul flies. It's not good enough anymore, though. Those things are common place and have been since the mid 80s. The only thing separating KISS is their costumes, and even those are pretty tired now that they go around all the time without them. The big show is old, and without them doing anything new, it's just time to give it up. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I've never really cared for KISS. The whole gimmick got old for me very fast. Also the songs just weren't as good to me as it was made out to be. I just prefer quality riffs and lyrics to an awesome stage show. After all, isn't the music the reason why people go to concerts. The stage shows should like be a bitchin' plus side, not the whole band's claim to fame.
Gene Simmons has sold out far too much to like go back to a real tour anyway. He guest appeared on American Idol and now he has like some kind of Nikelodean cartoon going on. Even if he did try and put some more effort into the band, it just wouldn't have the same significance as like if they like did a final comeback in the nineties. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |
