How long does it take to color a picture like this? (with a painter or photoshop)
http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-285353.html
It took me about 3.5 hours with pencil crayons and markers, I see so many people talking about 6+ hours CG drawings, while my traditional mediums usually take 2-5 hours.
I don't get it, shouldn't it take less time?

No. Digital really has nothing to do with being faster or easier, it's just different.
Although, it depends on how you want to color. Getting a solid block of a single color would be much faster in digital than traditional, only because it takes more than a single click to cover an area with an opaque layer.
But actual coloring like what you have there takes any number of hours, depending on the skill of the artist. The more you practice, the faster you are. What takes someone 12 hours may take another one an hour and a half.
When you first start digital you can expect to be horrible and slow. You just have to keep at it, like with any other medium. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
