Okay, remember late-ninties boy band The Moffats? I barely do. They were kind of a rip off of Hanson and were popular for like... a year.
Now one of them is competing on Canadian Idol. It's a sad, sad day for my country. _________________ |

I didn't even know you guys had an Idol show. Haven't you shipped enough horrible acts down to us to not need any more of your own?! You can have Celine Dion back.
That's funny he's resorted to competing on an idol show to get a record deal. Not even a good record deal, so he must be excessively desperate. Guess the Starbucks in his neighborhood isn't hiring right now. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Ack, I hope he doesn't get a second chance. I mean, Dave's already been in a band. Let someone new have the spotlight!
Wah, only one guy from Sask so far! No fair!!! _________________ It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)

Our music isn't actually that interesting, if you ask me. Celine Dion's good at singing - great vocals and everything, but I'm really not interested in that genre.
I guess it's a matter of personal preference, like most things.
...most of our singers suck. They must have gone through a hell of a lot of digital editting for their cds - take Lavigne, for example. Christ, she's the worst singer I've ever heard. Live: she's extremely off key, her voice breaks a lot, and she's screechy. _________________

Oh, she used to be sort of like that during her Let Go years, but her live singing has improved ten fold since then, imo. probably due to the fact that she actually takes care of her vocal cords now.
But back to the Idol thing. I don't know why he's even bothering to compete. The fact that fallen didn't even know we had an Idol pretty much shows the kind of success the winners will have. When's the last time you heard of Ryan Malcom, or hell, even that second dude that won... I forget his name, but he had blonde curly hair. Anyways, it's sad to say the least. What some people won't do for fame. _________________ |

Whoa, yeah, it gets zero publicity down here. I knew there was an Australian Idol just because a couple people submitted art about it, and there's the original British version, but I've never heard of any of the Canadian winners. Weird. No Idol winner ever makes it past a year of publicity, though. The mere fact the first American winner is still being referred to as "The original Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson" shows how much respect she's gotten as an actual solo performer and not some dancing monkey contest winner.
I don't have anything against Canadian people, just 80% of the musical artists they inflict upon us. Like Avril and Celine Dion, etc.
The funny part of this thread isn't that there's a Canadian Idol, but that someone who had a deal and failed is so pathetic they'd try for a lousy deal like what the Idol winners get. And now, let us laugh at him.... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Neil Young is Canadian, though... he's basically all we can claim aside from the Barenaked Ladies. _________________ |
