What Bothers You Most

My complaint? "It's either anime, or crap." Most newer American cartoons aren't worth the ink they were sketched with.

Well, perhaps using the word "most" is a bit of an oversimplification, but anime seems like the only thing on TV with any good visual art style to it, and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. Why are there so few recent American-made cartoons with a comparable level of visual quality?

Totally Spies and Martin Mystery have good visual art. A person can almost mistake them for an anime. That happened to me once.

Other than that, the rest of the cartoons suck. Well, they're good, but not when it comes to art and stuff.

It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)

Seems they just like pretty drawings moving.

I don't really like the all the PC bullshit. Go back to Bugs shooting people with shotguns, crazy rednecks with revolvers, and animals smashing eachother in the face with bats and who knows what else. I swear to God, 80% of cartoons back in the day featured someone's teeth falling out like glass.

Back in the day as in the 50s. Not the bullshit cartoons of the 70s and 80s. Choppy ass animation and hardly any dynamic movement.

AND USE SOME CLASSICAL MUSIC. All cartoons these days have some wacky music or whatever. The classical used in the old cartoons was great.

Okay, specifics.... refer to this, because I will be:

Among them, things I want to see less of include:
- Triple Repeat Attack
- Assembly Sequences (Once per episode is enough)
- Speed Lines, Raging Flames/Crashing Surf

- Multi-Character-Single-Gasp reaction
- Slash Split Screen (S3) sequences (except to show multiple Assemble Sequences at the same time - then it's okay)
- Temple Veins and Sweatdrops
- The Called Shot (particularly if it's combined with a form of Assembly Sequence)

But mainly, WAY too many closeups of character's faces and switching back and forth between them during (usually heated) dialogue. I understand it's cheaper than doing a whole scene, but I just want to see some longer takes.

Wow, what athread what annoys me with shows in general is, well ya know all those shows where tow people hate each other and they used to be friends, that kind of stuff I see placed where they hates each other over a stupid reason! That's what I hate. I just also hate pointless shows, maybe too much about the same about saying all n all anout be yourself, don't steal and all that. There's enough kiddies shows abotu that, all those action shows are what I'm after, but yeah, that's what bothers me.

i just find that alot of them are exactly the same...... some un-likley hero who goes around saving the world from evil .. why for once cant they just let the world be taken over ? for once i would just like to see what would happen if the bad guys won . . . .

I hate anime's that attempt comedy or comedic scenes, they just don't work. Ever. Especially when it's the silly kind of comedy that involves character "W" doing something silly and character's "X", "Y" & "Z" falling down.

I also hate the paedophilia vibe given off by certain anime's - grown women with... ample chests wearing young school children clothing just reeks of perversion sometimes. They're especially annoying when some squeeky voiced moron is doing the voice acting.

Last of all, it'd be the voice acting and scripts of certain anime's. Sometimes I've seen a character, judged what he might be like from sight alone and he has a voice I wouldn't at all associate with his character and it's not so great. Also, they tend to say things that would be cool if you were playing a Role Playing Game and were reading it from a text box, but just don't seem realistic when spoken. Some speeches are far too Quotesque and aren't really believeable as realistic speaking patterns.

Not too sure how well I explained it, but the aforementioned points would sour me to an anime...

And some people think that RPG's are better off with voices and audio... I like seeing someone stand up for the old text dialogue.

Yeah... well voices are nice, but if the actor has a voice you don't particularly like, it can put you off. At least with text you've not got that.

As for Totally Spies and Martin Mystery: I've seen it and I hate it! No matter how much they try, americans will never make their "pseudo anime cartoons" look like the real anime! I tried to watch those two shows and after two minutes I had to switch da channel cuz it waz too much a torture! But this doesnt mean I dont like american cartoons! I've seen lots of good ones but dat waz like 13 years ago... yeah 13!!! dat waz when most of u didnt even kno what TV is. The really good cartoons r the old ones.

So my very last comment iz: What bothers meh the most?? it's dat the new cartoons seem to have lost their old purpose.
And if they dont have any good concept they try to steal it from someone else!

A thing that's boring is when they put the wrong thing at the wrong time.
An example is when you see something like the second world war and see them with guns almost as small as pistols...
