Resizing Is ****!

I can't seem to make a pic I'm trying to submit smaller! I tried saving it as a different sized pic, but it's still to large! It didn't change at all. Please help!!!!

Firstly, make sure you are NOT saving it as a "Bitmap Image", otherwise you'll pretty much NEVER be able to resize it small enough to fit under 300kb.

Secondly, go check page 1 of the FAQ, we have sample tutorials for how to resize images in Photoshop and PaintShop Pro (and even MS Paint, too) .

That would work ... IF I used windows. I am currently using a [i]Linux[/i] operating system.

EDIT: Exact problem message is: "File too large to upload. Resize to a smaller size and/or increase compression. Max filesize is the smaller of the following 2 values: 5M, 0k"

Linux, eh...? Unfortunately I don't know of many tools available for Linux... except for the GIMP, that is. www.gimp.org .
