Question for anyone who can help me. The other day I submitted a pic that got rejected. Here is what my email said:

Your submission to fanart Central "Always Party With Wings...o_O'" (ID#239822) has been rejected by approval panel member ID#.

Reason: Rejected: change the category to original-characters-group/couple.

I'm assuming that if I were to submit my pic to under this new category it would be approved. But here is the problem: those were NOT my original characters.

I drew a pic of two girls dancing with each other. I saw these girls in an add for Always maxi-pads in a teen magazine. I made it very clear in my description that these girls were not my mine. I even said that I saw them in the maxi-pad add.

Now, I tried submitting the pic under the Misc. category because there is no place else on the site that it belongs. That is, quite honestly, the only place that it CAN go.

Does the approval staff read the picture descriptions? If someone had, they'd realize that my pic can't go in the original characters catagory.

So, what I want to know is, how do I submit this pic, then? Is there a way to alert the approval staff and let them know that the category they suggested is, in fact, the wrong category for my pic? To let them know that the category I submitted it under is the only appropriate category? I honestly looked all over the site, and found no better place.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Especially if you are on the approval staff, tell me what I can do since they would all know best.

Thank you!

I'd vouch for Misc. too, I guess. Give it time and the right SH should answer.

It would actually apply in Real People>women/girls, considering they are referenced from existing people.

Depending on how big the list is, and how long the description, a panel member may just skim the description.

Actually, no, it wouldn't go in the real people section, because the pic in the add was a cartoon!

Here is a link to the pic:

Always Party With Wings

When I upload it to FAC it will be much better quality, I assure you.

But yeah, the add was of people at a party. I picked two girls from the pic and drew them. I positioned them so that it looked like they were dancing together.

Like I said, the Misc. section is the only place this pic can go, because they are NOT real people and they are NOT my own original characters.

Stick it in cartoons then. The misc section gets too cluttered with crap. Put it in cartoons for now and a more specific category for that kind of thing might be made later. Or you could have also put it in TV/Movies. Do you realize how many pictures we have to approve? Sometimes we can only quickly skim through a description/ picture and quickly move onto the next. When there is 200 pictures to approve and some have been there for over 8 hours mistakes are going to be made. Considering there are two possible categories for you to place it in, I would say it is you who made the mistake.

Misc is really only for the things that truly can't be categorized any other way. Such as the clothing designs, still life, vehicles, tattoo designs, logos, weapon design, things of that nature.

Anything depicting a peson fits somewhere in one of the other categories. If it's refrenced off someone else's drawing, then Carter is correct and it could go in cartoons. Just because it's not a famous cartoon network show, it's still someone else's cartoon characters you've drawn.

I really don't see how TV/Movies would work, either, since this came from a magazine...

But, cartoon. Never really considred that. I was under the assumption that it had to be an animated series or...something along those lines. But hey, if it will work, then maybe I'll give it a go.

Thanks for the help ^_^
