It's really not [i]that[/i] big of a deal. Napster went down because it had a definite location/creator that could be charged. No matter how many programs they shut down, more will always be created. KaZaA was criticized, but last I heard there was no KaZaA headquarters the feds could shut down. That's why the entertainment industry started going after people who were sharing 1000+ files from their computer.

There's countless other programs, all of which gain popularity as another one fails. And that article pretty much says those who create or distribute the programs are breaking the law. Your house isn't going to be raided because you've got Limewire installed on your computer. However, the best thing to do is either disable downloads from your computer or move all the files out of whatever folder it shares from.

P2P will never die. It's too convenient, people love free things.

Shouldn't be pirating shit anyway. There's great possibilities for the sharing of discontinued, import, or bootleg material, but 99.99% of the files shared are easily available for purchase. And porn.
