Al right, so I've been on a bit of an urban legends kick lately and I wanted to know some people's legends. Don't give me any of the famous ones like The Hook-Hand Man or Bloody Mary; I want to hear your LOCAL ones, that I probably would not know of.
So please... tell me some! _________________ |

we have a bunch
from The Myrtles to bloodstains on graves from lilly
one of my favorites is the myrtles where supposedly a man who was having an affair with his maid, told her to make a cake for his family
she ended up poisoning it to get them sick, but then they died
and she was hanged in the woods behind their plantation home
she still haunts the place...alot of pics to prove it *tries to find one*
Some people in the cafetteria say that hot dogs are made from pig intestines.
That's the only one I can think of...
Only one around here is the one about a girl who hung herself from a large in the park. If you walked backwards around the tree ten times you would supposedly see her.
The tree got strick by lightning two years ago and the council had it ripped down for safety reasons, so that's that one gone down the pan. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

I live in Illinois! I'm really sorry, I can't remember the name of the street (maybe it was an intersection?), but it's in Illinois! There was once an asylum, but it got closed down. The building still remains, but is abandoned. A lot o kids from my Highschool go down to the street and race by it. The rumors are that if you drive by it really fast at night, even with the windows closed, the temprature drops and some kids claim to have seen or heard things. A girl I know went out with her friends and they took a picture by the building sign, but when the photo develpoed there were letters missing.
Also, there was a woman with a lot of children, I think it was 9 or some very high number like that. This took place in the early 1900's, she was known as a nice loving woman. Her Husband got sick and passed away. She went insane, and ordered all her children to stand in a line outside the house. She beheaded all of them. Upon realizing what she did, she took her own life. The town put up a monument for her and her clildren in the cemetary, and there have been stories about the woman walking around her old house, watching her children.
This is more of a family story. I don't live with my dad, and I just asked him about supernatural stuff about a week ago. My dad was very good friends with my Godfather, and when my he passed away my dad attended his wake. When he was there, he was in a room, alone for a while. He heard my Godfathers voice calling his name, when he looked around there was nobody there.
My grandma's mom died when she was very young, around 8 or so. Every night after her death, she would feel herself getting tucked in. Physically, the blanket would move to cover her. She would get very scared. One day she told her mother that she was scared and she didn't want her to visit anymore and it never happened again. |

we don't have enough common sense to stay out
my friend took a picture of a bird's nest out there and when the picture developed it was the skeleton of a baby bird instead
which made us want to go back there even more... |

Oh!Speaking of Illinois,my dad was raised in Decatur,by the GreenWood Cemetary. He's been there tons of times, and there are alot of ghost stories clinging to the old place!Like the story of the woman and the bench. No one know how she got there, but alot of people have reported seeing a young woman sitting on a stone bench during the sunset, and then her image just fades away as it gets darker....believe me,my dad has tons of stories to tell! |
