Okies, I hope no one's done this already. Lol! NEwayz, 'tis a place where fans of that all excellent band, Aerosmith can just talk about 'em 'n such. I've been a huge fan of them for like four years now (since the tender age of twelve actually) so I just wanna see if anyone else likes 'em too.
Okay, time for an ice breaker! What is your absolute favorite Aerosmith song? I personally fell in love with "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" for the Armagedon movie. It was my first intro to them I I immediately wanted to know more about the band (and the singer) who composed this brilliant song! I also like the songs "Walk this Way" (you simply cannot beat the classics,) and "Jaded" (my friend and I used to grab hair brushes and sing into them while opening our mouths as wide as we can so we'd look like Steve Tyler when he sings that song. Lol! Yeah, we were dorks... ^_^ )
Well, thats all I have to say for now. I hope to meet some real - Aerosmith fans here! TTFN, ta ta for now!

They actually didn't write Don't Wanna Miss a Thing. Didn't even really want to do it because of that fact. It's a good song and fit the movie really well, but... well don't be surprised if you run across a whole lot of Aero fans who can't stand it.
Favorites:
Livin' On the Edge
Shame Shame Shame
Rag Doll
What It Takes
Sweet Emotion
Fallin' In Love (Is Hard on the Knees)
Walk on Water
Back In the Saddle
Toys In the Attic
Dude (Looks like a lady)
Permanent Vacation
Love In An Elevator
Pink
And so on, and so on...

Not many fans like that song? Oh well, everyone has different tastes after all, I am a sucker for a good rock ballad (which is another reason why I love them so much. For as long as I can remember, Aerosmith has written some of the best rock ballads ever.) OMG! I just wanna say that I just got the coolest thing I ever got. My dad's friend was moving out of the company and he gave my dad his old Aerosmith record and my dad gave it to me! Its a real record from the 70s! Its got some of their greastest songs on it like "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotions." I don't have a record player but thats okay. Its almost like an antique (my dad calls it "vintage" so I'll go with it and call it vintage too. Yep, the Aerosmith record is vintage, it sounds so much better than antique, don't ya think?) I place it right below my retro Aerosmith concert poster. (I'm trying to give my room a retro 60-70s look and I'm starting by making a small Aerosmith corner. Lol!)
Okay, here's a question I wanna ask? How come you like Aerosmith? Is it because of their timeless hits? Or because of Steve Tyler's vocals? Or is it just everything about them? Why do I like 'em? Well, I was introduced to Aerosmith when I was really young by my dad. But I didn't start to appreciate them until four years ago when I found out that they wrote "Dude (looks like a lady)" (which was one of my favorite songs at the time.) I found out more about them and they soon became one of my favorite bands of all time.
Well, thats my two cents about Aerosmith so I'll be seein' ya when I see ya!

Most fans don't have anything against the song as a song. It is good. It's just the fact that they didn't write it and didn't even really want to do it until Steven saw the movie. It's just not..."real" Aerosmith. That's all. I personally like the song, there's just a lot of "oldschool" fans who hate the fact they did it.
Asking why I like Aerosmith is near impossible. My dad has a lot of their records on vinyl, along with the Stones and hundreds of others. ("Sticky Fingers" for one, which has such a great cover ) He used to play the records, n' I remember a lot of the songs from when I was little. Steven is by far one of my favorite frontmen, and their image is great. Rock n' roll glam without being excessive (nothin' wrong with excess, but lots of glitter and day-glow spandex wouldn't suit them). One of, if not the, greatest american rock band.

Aerosmith rules. It's ofcourse the whole concept, but basically it comes down to the wonderful Joe Perry who is simply a guitar god. The guitars in Aerosmith songs are just great, together with Stevn it's a great band.
favorite songs would be: Mama kin, Dream on and Walk this way. Dude (looks like a lady) is also very good, but just because of the AMAZING solo Perry plays. TO be honest I love most of their songs.
I don't want to miss a thing, like Fallen said, just isn't really a Aerosmith kind of song. It's very cool, but not typical Aerosmith.
btw: Sticky fingers is the best stones album ever and the cover is great indeed (it was forbidden in some countries because it was "shocking"). |

I wanted it written into the will that I get his Sticky Fingers record... I did a paper on Warhol and mentioned that cover (and the Velvet Underground and Nico cover). Got a nice big "connection to thesis?!" note on it. Uh, they're good album covers, that's the connection. There was the same note on the part where I mentioned his following of drag queens. Oh well.

Awww, its my first real topic in the Music section. Hahahaha, I was such a no0b.
Anyways, I'm bringing this thread back to life because I know more about Aerosmith than I used to and Kane loves the sound of Steve Tyler's voice so at least someone here can hold their own in an Aerosmith conversation.
I just want to say that my absolute favorite Aerosmith song is Love in an Elevator. Mostly for the lyrics and the guitar solo in the middle of the song. The music video is great too. Who doesn't want to see Steve Tyler doing manequins that came to life in a mall elevator?
Its a great song with a great delivery. Truely a classic song.
So what are some of your favorite Aerosmith music videos? Some argue that Cryin' and Amazing are really good but I think those are like famous because of that one actress chick who made her debeut on there and the fact that Steve Tyler's daughter played the sexy girl role in another. Most are pretty good but some are better than others. Which one do you prefer? _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Another band favorite of mine, I liked the song don't wanna miss a thing. Or whatever. Nice song for the movie, although the movie Armaggeton was a little boring.
Great band, sad thing (I mean very sad that you'll actually pitty me for the rest of my entire life) I don't have a single CD. Or my dad has some I don't know, not all of his CD collection is in the living room. I'll hunt for one if I have to. I'm just damn broke. I have 14 cents! I need a job, make something of my life.
I heard plently of songs by them and I have forgotten the titles.
Now make me forsaken, just do it. _________________ Wyat Fucking Earp! |
