I Need Help!

I need help. When i try updating my signature i want to use an image but whenever i paste the URL in the text box that says[i] Enter the complete URL of the image[/i] and i press the button [i]Update my Signature[/i] a page pops up that says :

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif >_<
what should i do? I realy need help Sad

What's the URL for the image you want to use? Just simply saying "I have a problem" isn't always enough, copying & pasting the exact error message is better, but to get the problem solved quickly, you should be equally as specific about what [b]you[/b] were doing before it happened.

Two things firstly: One, the URL tag never works for files stored locally on your hard drive (on your computer), it only works on Internet addresses.

Second, are you sure you're talking about your forum signature, or are you talking about your forum [i]avatar[/i]?

Forum sigs follow the same conventions as forum posts. Forum avvies, on the other hand, are files uploaded (copied) from your computer.

What is the file again? That's not even a valid file name.

Oh, now I understand! The image I wanted was from my computer, so i guess that explains why it does not show up.
