Masami Okui here. I bought her Devotion cd a long time ago. <3 It was mostly for Shuffle, I think, but her Deportation song's good, too. :3 And the cd came with that bonus track~~ What was it? 女神になりたい~for a yours~ That song rocks. :3
As for other stuff, I'll listen to anything that appeals to me - not any bands in particular, but specific songs. If I like that song, I'll listen to it. But I'm not going to go out of my way to collect all their music, y'know?
(The only person I did that to is Hoshi Souichirou, and his music is pretty much spread all over various mixed cds and singles. Gaaah, voice actors. I'm not going to spend $1000 to buy all the cds with his music on it just because it they each have one of his songs. ) _________________

Oh yeah I know Maaya Sakamoto, I've only heard a few songs though, from anime's. She's the one who did "Gravity" in Wolf's Rain, right?
And then my friend sent me another song from like Raxephon I think... or whatever you call it. |

Megami ni Naritai? I love that song, haven't heard it in ages. I was a huge Masami Okui fan a few years back... I blame it on Digi Charat.
I've been buying used Japanese CDs left and right, but it's all old stuff. I really want to get my hands on some more modern music... Right now I'm stuck listening to S.E.S (who I think might be Korean) and F-BLOOD (surprisingly mellow J-rock) - groups from the 90's that I've neeeeeever heard of before. XD
Usually, I collect anime theme songs and branch out from there. Maaya Sakamoto is still one of my favorite artists and I still listen to Ayumi Hamasaki now and then. |

Puffy Ami Yumi gets on my NERVES. >:(
I'll only listen to Laruku (L'Arc~en~Ciel) or the pillows, but I keep hearing stuff about Ayumi Hamazaki. What's she like? Or is it a guy...I would doubt that... _________________ Ah, so you've decided to read my signature. How DELLIGHTFUL. Ayumi Hamasaki's definitely a girl. There was a rather short-lived thread about her... Here's the link.
Ayumi Hamasaki's music is a mixture of aggressively upbeat and annoyingly sappy songs. I think she's a bit overrated - she's been around forever, I only like a few of her songs, she's remixed her songs way too much... I think someone once called her the "Britney Spears of Japan". XD
I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only person in the world that dislikes The Pillows... |

Aren't they the people who did the soundtrack for FLCL? I never really liked them, either. Not really my thing.
Mmm, I kinda like The Babystars. I tend to branch out from anime music, too, so that's why most of my music is related to an anime in some way... They did the first ending theme to Yakitate!! Japan. ^^; I really love that song, althogh it's really hard for me to sing along with. X3
And yeah, I've never seen any of Di Gi Charat. I just know that megami ni naritai is from the Christmas special. Makkun~ <3 _________________

I have only heard Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru (Simple Plan), and Shuunichi Miyamoto (True Light).
I'd like to listen to some other bands.

How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)

I just went music shopping in Akihabara yesterday, and totally rekindled my undying love for KOTOKO. XD I grabbed one of her singles discs, and I'm going to have to go back, since her second CD just came out, and I will kill to own it. She's best known for her peppy, highly-synthesized game themes. She also did the theme songs for Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins. I love upbeat J-pop.
CDs in Japan are stupidly expensive. I am finally getting into the mindset that paying $30 for a CD is a pretty good deal.... Oh, so dangerous. ;~; |
