Fangirls

What are they exactly? I get it that they are fans, but are they all fans of one thing, such as anime? Or can any girl be a fangirl as long as she is a fan that is a girl?

I mean, most people are fans of something, to be a fangirl do you like have to be so totally in love with something and go crazy over it? Because alot of people are, including boys. Also, why do we hate them fangirls? Calling someone a fangirl is like an insult. I don't get most of this iLingo (<-term stolen from Leo)

In my vocabulary, a "fangirl" is roughly equivalent to an "uneducated fucktard".

Generrally, an girl who is a fan of something is still just a fan.

"fangirl" is a bloody insult to anyone who has some semblance of intelligence. :/ It's someone who has obsessed over something so much that they don't resemble anything human at all, what with their incessant annoyingness and lack of braincells in general. (For example, we could say that Dewroo is a fangirl of Amy. But we won't 'cause I'm nice. Smile

)

Basically, these are the signs of a fangirl:

I think the fine line between a [i]fan girl[/i] and a [i]fangirl[/i] lies in the realiztion that the characters aren't real.

Any regular girl or guy who is a fan of something is normally like, "That's cool! Now I want to buy their merchandice!"

Any fangirl or fanguy is more likely to think, "That's cool! I have a crush on him/her!"

that's what I mean, when the word "fan" isn't used as an adjective, actually combined with the word, it works as fangirl = fan girl squared.

And I wish the anime/manga section had better moderation. =_= Seeing all the fangirly stuff drives me nuts. Once we even had three "Yaoi sucks!" threads running simultameously. And I'm not even going to comment on how many "OMG Who's the Hottest!!?" or "WHO whould Sasuke go out with!!?" threads in there.

I used to post in there religiously, but after Silver and Lasher left, it's been overrun by rabid fangirls. =_=
