Ugh. Tell me, anyone who keeps poking at general being "spammy", what is now on topic general discussion now that we have so many new forums? Can't think of much? Exactly. As long as it's not obscene or completely stupid, general is general again. Not that that means much to those who have always had a spam forum, but you get the idea. Anything that doesn't fit in the others goes here now.

And yes, Raymei needs to get less of a life. Sadly, I anticipate becoming her for a little while here shortly. Moving out takes too much effort.

Raymei used to be site staff, specializing in super art thief annihilation.

I think the term 'Spam' has been completely blown out of proportion to what it really is.

The defintion of spam:

Forum trolling = "I like cheese" copy and paste x200

Random image posting = "look at this kitty!"

Threads with no room for discussion = a random image post only with text instead of a picture. "I am so cool"

Changing the topic of a thread for more than a few posts with no sign of stopping.

It's been blown way out of proportion to mean anything that isn't a thread about abortion or a single slightly off topic post. Which it's not. By my post, I meant that with so many new sections, things that originally were in spam (poll threads, this thread, birthday threads, etc.) can now go in general because things like politics and philosophy no longer belong here.

But you still can't spam.

Yeah that's what I meant. What I was getting at is the general public have kind of taken spam a little too seriously...not just here other forums as well. "OMGZ DUN POST THAT YOU'RE SPAMMING!" When, even though the topic may be something goofy, silly, whatever, there's still something to talk about.

As for topic changes within a thread--that goes back to even the Whose Line days--conversation wavers from time to time. Thread jacking is a no-no, but sometimes the topic itself naturally changes.
