If you were a writer like for instance J K Rowling, how would you feel about people writing fanfictions on your characters?
I am torn, I'd love to inspire people not only to read, but write aswell. Even though it'd be better for them to use they're own characters, settings, ect.
But some characters are held dear to heart. Some things poeple would write stuff that would not be the way you made your character. Not something your character would do.
You might say then the character, wasn't put across clear enough. It could be but people still refuse the way they are. (ex. Draco being lovey dovey) Or it's something that wasn't really stated in the book, but should come across as clear. (ex. Draco not liking ferrets after being turned into on in GoF)
So what do you say? |

I would LOVE IT! Cos it would mean that people admire your work enough to write about it! ^^ So cool |

It depends. One good thing is that they would actually bother creating new adventures for my character, which not only lets them learn to be a better writer, but it also means I have inspired them with my work. That is good. But the bad thing is if they go way out of character and/or make it something that it isn't. I mean, if its a fanfiction on Kingdom Hearts, let's say, and they completly ruined what could have been a good story by mixing it with FF game characters all getting married to Sora, 1. it wouldn't make sense, and 2. that would be ruining TWO great game trilogies.
I'll stop talking now. <_< *glares at EVIL zadr luvers* |
