They're really really uncomfortable right now, my eyes are all pink too, but I guess that's the price you hafta pay the price for not having to wear glasses. I took me like, 40 minutes per eye to put it in, I was cursing at the lens in the doctor's office and I threatened to chew it in half if it didn't go in properly again
Anyway, I'm back home, and I can't tell indivudal smileys apart,
I hate this
Do one of you people have lenses too? _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I have contacts too. Had them since April and I'm used to them now. But I remember having to put them in for the first time. Its a bitch at first and it does take some getting used to (took me like half an hour to put in just one but now it takes me thirty seconds at most.)
But if you aren't seeing any better with them, then maybe you should see the eye doctor again. I had the same problem but it only turned out to be because my perscription wasn't strong so I wasn't going to notice the changes. But its better to be safe than sorry. Go back if you don't see any better and get your eyes checked out with the contacts on. And make sure to put them in everyday because practice does make perfect. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Oh no, I did the eye exam with contacts on and I got 20/20, it's just that I am far-sighted with these on, everything close as the computer screen is blurry. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

That might be tough on the eyes. I'd say take them out before using the comp but since you're still new with putting them in, wait it out for awhile. When you feel like you can take them in and out without effort then take them off before using the comp.
All this is just reminding me that I keep forgetting to put my contacts on. I can see fine without them but I don't want to wear my glasses either.
I'm vain. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Heh I'm gonna get contacts in a couple weeks....But I doubt my eyes would have te same reaction. I touch them all the time and it doesn't hurt at all. |

It was the same for me when I got contacts - it took me about an hour to get them in the first day. Took me a while, but it definitely gets easier with time. I put mine in within seconds now, and I don't even look in a mirror to do it. But then, I've had contacts for... *counts* nearly seven years.
Give your eyes a few days to get used to them - I know they felt weird to me at first too. Still, they totally win over glasses. Anything but glasses! >_<
. . . I guess I didn't contribute any information of value here. |

i've had contacts for about 3 years now. i love them so much that i can't believe i never wanted them in the first place. yeah i know how you feel at first they feel all crappy because there in you eye and your eyelid's are not used to this sort of thing. but give it a couple of hours each day and you eye's will develop calisis...
then you'll also get better at it in time and it now takes me about a minute or two depending if my cat lets me put them in, in the morning without bothering me for food... <_<
other then that love them and enjoy them...or get laser surgery... _________________ I'm a bit silly on the goofy side on nonsense. ^_^ |

Nah. Don't get laser surgery if the contacts don't work. Its like really expensive and honestly, there's like a bunch of risks involved. Unless you'd be stuck with like super thick ugly glasses for life, then try to avoid laser eye surgery as much as possible. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Yeah, give it time. That issue with being farsighted with them on is the same with my reading glasses (for the classroom). I can read things from far away really well, but everything closer is kinda warped or blurry. Makes me sick to wear them for too long. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I tried contacts last year and it didn't really work for me,it took me like about an hour to put one in and of course my eye became red and all,so I didn't bother with them after that. I'm thinking of getting them this year, but the problem is things get blurry when I see things at different distances so I think I'll just get another pair of glasses, which suck cause I don't look good in glasses. |

Damn, My lenses come out on their own when I try to open my eyes widest as possible, I was practising doing that on my bed for the sake of easier insertion the next time, it just *poped* right off
At least I got good 3 hours out of it, I need to wear it for at least 6 hours tomorrow, ay ay  _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I tried doing that(opening my eyes as wide as possible) before but it didn't get any easier for me. Are your contacts transparent or colour? |

Updates on the lenses,
Today is the day 2, I got them in after 40 minutes of trying, but everything's even more blurry, I think I switched sides, Is there anyway to figure it out?!?!? _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Trade 'em back and forth and see which combination looks better. -_-
My first set was easy because one was tinted and the other wasn't. They were also different thicknesses because I had astigmatism in one eye and it required a special lens. Of course, my eyes have gotten worse since then, so now I've got the thicker lenses for both eyes and they look the same and it's annoying when I mix them up. It's virtually impossible to tell which is which, if there's no significant difference between the two. |
