Can You Tell Who This Is?

After finishing this ... i asked someone if they could tell who it was supposed to be.... and no they didn't..... so once again I fail at capturing a person in realism. Sad

So I ask you.. can you tell who this is supposed to be? If you can't let me know. I know i need to work harder on my stuff but damnit... i really thought she was recognizable ... My suckingness makes me sick.

And yeah... i tried to do the nose part perfectly cuz her nose is kinda distinctive...

thats definitly Geller. the monitor I run is so large and sharp that every little imperfection from a jpg shows, which sometimes drives me crazy. and thats not anyones art just crappy internet picture quality.

I think the body and the shading are fabulous. I also think you got the expression great. the only pics I could pull up right now of her on the net show her part on the othe side (but that can change with her mood) and her hair is like honey blonde (but whos to say she didnt peroxide that doo that day). her nose is a little bulbier (is that a word)?

I like your art LC and think this is really good because I new who it was and instantly went to pull her up on the net to scrutinize your pic against posters on Bomis of her. beautiful shading too. I never take enough time on my realism pics, about 10 minutes and its done. Fallens pics are excellent and she probebly would give the best pointers. I think its a very good picture.

The hair color was blonde.. but i f*cked up good with the face shading so i decided to just change the hue and saturation or whatever it's called... So the whole thing just looks to be a rusty color. This is part of my hockey girls collection Smile

I could tell it was Sarah Michelle Gellar just by seeing the top half of her face. I don't see how people couldn't tell...

well lets see another LC. guarantee Ill figure the next out by a glance too. your a very good artist. its cool to always want to do better. some people stop and think "oh Im just so good" but dont beat yourself up either. you are good.

I asked on another string for an artist to critque my work and for others to chime in, but I never got any responce. I told the person that my comic will not change, because if Im trying to sell it and it does the syndicator would not appreciate that, but my art Im always willing to here how to improve it.

a little on my style and background. yes I went through college and aced art, but I did drive the prof nuts because I do not go about my drawings in a traditional manner. I start eyes and face first and work from life (or a picture) from there. it may cause rework and some anatomical probs. most are hidden for they are toons and I can say "I ment to do that" but anywho this was the picture and tell me what you may see wrong. I drew this from another real picture of a Chinese girl. the left foot was cut off in the real picture so I improvised figuring on her leg possition, and my muscle tone is huge on my girls figuring they were ex-military (see GI Jane and you will see a little of what they go through), but the hands were actually hidden behind the models body.

I just did. I left the comment on ur page. I think its the best of ur work I've seen. I don't see a prob with the anatomy at all. i said maybe the butt could be bigger but honestly i don't know Smile

I guess maybe it's just her muscular legs that make her bum look small Smile

And yeah I always strive to be better....... because I used to think I was good when I was like 16/17 and now i realize i looked like a fool. I would draw stuff in school and like show it off... thinking i was amazing. It was all sailor moon crap. I look back at that stuff now and realize it is terrible. It's like a 5 year olds sketch. Smile

And I know I'll wake up in two years and realize my drawings now are hurtn Smile

So must keep improving.

that is so true. I always told my kids (and I guess I hang with my kids alot so I keep in touch with the next gen and they know how to do right and that no ones perfect) everyone knows all in thier teens till your in your 20s and say yeah right kid, untill your in your 30s and really know all....untill your in your 40s and say what the **** Im just tryin to keep up. it goes on and on and the best to do I say is know your good but always try to improve!

thanks for the comment on the pic. I think because of thier big mario (Peach/Daisy) eyes and muscle people think "what". they are used to little Japanesee school girls fighting. I wanted to put a little realism to my toons.

I commented on your Christmas pic...very nicely done, and I hope to see more of both your anime and realism pics. your very good keep it up.

erm i know what you mean, lc. even looking at my pics from only a year ago, i wonder how i ever thought i was any good at all. lol i don't think i'm that good now, but i do think i've at least improved, which is always something. and i agree with you, dabear, that "the best to do is know you're good but always try to improve."

and yay you're both good! keep drawing!
