Because we grow up in a society of "you know what I meant" level grammar and spelling, and something must be done about it.

Share the knowledge! Smile

Apostrophe

To indicate the omission of one or more letters in a word, whether unpronounced, as in oer for over, or pronounced, as in govt for government; to indicate the possessive case, as in womans; or to indicate plurals of abbreviations and symbols, as in several M.D.s, ps. But do NOT use apostrophes for possessive pronouns or for noun plurals.

I believe I have just shared the knowledge. I didn't even know this was a holiday! They should have National Pronunciation Day as well. It would help. When you speak I mean.

After all, "his" and "hers" don't get apostrophes, neither does "ours", so why should "its" ?Wink
