Okay, so I'm bored and just noticed there's less than a week until I start my Junior year in high school.
So, I'm wondering....
Who is excited about the new school year? (goes for college-goers too)
What kind of classes will you be taking?
Who/what are you excited to see this year?
and for those who have already started the new year...
When did you start?
How has it been so far this year?
How are your teachers?
What classes do you think will be your favorite of the year?
Did anything really funny/interesting happen already?
There are plenty more questions to ask, but I'll leave that to the other posters. ^_^
As for me:
I have mixed feelings for the year. Since it will be my junior year, it's pretty important to the rest of my life. I'll really have to bust out my smarts instead of slacking and passing the finals with flying colors just to pass the class. There are also going to be the HSPA's and the SAT's this year I believe. I don't know if it will be the SAT's this year, but that's what I heard. I already took them back in 7th or 8th grade and got a 940 out of I think 1600 was the highest in that version....I don't know. But anyway...
I'm pretty nervous about French 4 Honors, because I don't remember much of french......
Who knows what this year will bring.....

My first semester of my first year in my school has ended, and now I'm starting on my studio project.
When did you start? 30 june, shortly after I joined FAC.
How has it been so far this year? Pretty stressful.I have no exams, just projects and the occasional quizzes. But the dedlines are killers.
How are your teachers? They are all pretty great, pointing out my mistakes in designing and making sure I'm on the right track.
What classes do you think will be your favorite of the year? Probably Colour Theory.
Did anything really funny/interesting happen already? When we imitate our lecturers in chatrooms..

Who is excited about the new school year? (goes for college-goers too)
I know I am, I love school. Learning, new books, new people, being able to be somewhere during the day..well, that would all apply to me if I wasnt homeschooled. So, yeah, I'll probably be around here for most of my time.
What kind of classes will you be taking?
Not sure exactly, but, this is what I know for a fact I will be taking.
Biology
Computer Science
Literature
Who/what are you excited to see this year?
Excited to see less of my brother at home. XD;
I have to start studying today in like, and hour. Wub.

When did you start?
- Our classes started on August 9th. Two days later was my birthday. Isn't it great having a birthday on a school day?
How has it been so far this year?
- Hectic. I have tons of homework each and every day thanks to the unreasonably heavy 4x4 schedule.
How are your teachers?
- Satisfactory. They're nice people, but they're murdering us with homework.
What classes do you think will be your favorite of the year?
- Ahahaha. . .none, none at all.
Did anything really funny/interesting happen already?
- Hmmm. . .well the freshmen kept pulling the fire alarms thinking it was "oh so utterly cool and funny". How is making more than 1700 students go out into the blazing heat of the sun for several agonizing minutes sound "cool and funny" at all? High school freshmen are getting more dim-witted each year. I'm glad I'll be graduating this year. |

When did you start?
Monday, not counting last week's registration and orientation.
How has it been so far this year?
Art school roxxorz. Had five classes so far, two of which are 6 hours long. Each class only meets once a week, though. A lot of homework, thank god Monday's a holiday and I can put off the homework for those two classes a little while.
How are your teachers?
No horrible teachers so far, but there's two to go, and one of them is [I think] widely hated. But most of my favorite teachers in high school have been the hated ones.
What classes do you think will be your favorite of the year?
Life Drawing. It's spiffy, even if it is 6 hours long.
Did anything really funny/interesting happen already?
Not particularly. Nudity's always pretty funny, but this is general. And after staring at the same naked person for 6 hours, it's not quite as interesting. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Haha, Koto, I hope you're more dedicated to schoolage than I am.... Change the spanish to french and take away the honors part of world history at that was my freshman year right there.
Too many honors classes for a lazy kid like me. |

Haha, I'm seriously horrible at World History, but my friend said that honors was easier than high college prep in my school so I decided, why not? I'll probably drop down next year or something. |

Tomorrow will be the end of week 4 for me. My teachers are all pretty cool. ^_^
1st Semester
AP Portfolio Art
Honors Economics & Government
Teacher Assistant
AP Calc AB
2nd Semester
AP Porfolio Art
Honors English IV
Honors Physics I
AP Calc BC
I failed my calc test today. I get confused on limits. It's a tough class. As for "teacher assistant", any senior who has all their credits up to date can be a TA for any teacher. I wanted to take another science class, but there was no room, so I became a TA for my art teacher instead. I help all the Drawing I kids learn how to draw, and I pass out papers and stuff. Yep. My year is going to be really busy with applying for colleges, studying for my AP classes, being secretary of Interact, treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta (math club), being in National Honor Society, working on a freakin' huge service project in Girl Scouts, part-time job... I have no "me" time. Oh well. And I thought senior year was going to be slack off year. _________________ |

Who is excited about the new school year? (goes for college-goers too)

I was like a hermit in the last week of vacation so I was really looking foward to actually getting out and seeing people and having something to do. Now that its here and I'm there, I'm kind of wishing that I was able to go back home. Just a little. I'm a bit alone this year until the theater starts up again and that will be like in God knows how long. Its going to be like a bit trying for the first month of school but I'm sure by then I'll make some new friends.
What kind of classes will you be taking?

My guidance councelor really fucked up my schedual. I just noticed it today when rereading it. I only have four classes in my second semester when there should be five and I have six classes this semester when I should only have five of those too. <_<
Anyways, this is what I have for now...
1st Semester
Advanced Ceramics and then Intro to Guitar in November
Health/PE
Study Hall and possibly another Study Hall but I might try and get an idependent class for Art Tech instead
Honors English III
2nd Semester
Algebra II Normal Course
Painting
Study Hall...?
Honors US History
...Nothing...
So yeah, I need to talk about this with someone but the problem is that I'm not the only Junior who got screwed over with a crappy schedual. In fact, my schedual is pretty good compared to others. Some people have like all study halls in a semester even though they asked for normal classes.
Its totally screwed up.
Who/what are you excited to see this year?
Kind of excited to see my old friends. Some more than others. I'm hoping to meet some new people but I suck at meeting people so we'll see how that goes. I really can't wait for the theater to get back together. Its lost a lot of support this year due to a lay off of drama teachers. But we'll do something this year..I hope.
I just realized that this year may possibly suck. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |
