I think the artists and writers here should search for their stuff in the
screenshots (and other info) and claim their art if it's there. I have identified several artists from here that she has stolen from.

A case is being built about her-which is the soul purpose of the site.

Her real name is Stacey English but also uses all the following aliases-many stolen from REAL artists and authors-she steals their IDs and personal info also:

The site is updated almost daily-unfortunately-this means she still at it.

you don't have to a member of the site to do anything but use the fourms, all the other info is open and FREE for you to use.

If you have more information-or you have been a past victim that I'm not aware-PLEASE send me the info.

Other art thieves can also be reported-in one of 2 ways-either by join the site-and make sure you read the joining criteria-it's fairly easy--or you can send the info to me-with proofs-and I will post it for you.

Don't sit by and be a quiet victim and let her make money off YOUR work-which is exactly what she is doing.

So what she does is... let me get this straight, steal bunch of art from another artist, make or join other art site, and completely impersonate that person and make money out of it?

I don't have the heart to read all the names in there, but if you specify any names that belongs to this site, this thread will be automatically erased, keep that in mind.

I've looked into this a bit, aparently she steals alot from Adelle Sessler(SP?) and she was selling fake, low quality pints of her art and book at Otakon.

Seriously, they should find this chick and arrest her..

But, then again, if the original artists havent bought copyrights on their work..hmm..she could get away with it, couldnt she? :huh:

Do you HAVE TO buy copyright to your OWN work? I didn't think you had to, just the PATENT for inventions since that requires hundreds of people going through old documents to see if your creation is wholesomely unique.

she is in violation of the law -both civil and criminal cases could be brought against her.

Just removing, manipulating, altering a is a violation (and that includes watermarking).

and that's just the beginning.

You don't have to pay for registration to have a copywrite according to the DMCA

You have creative copyright over work as soon as you create it. Proving it's yours in a court of law is another matter entirely, especially with digital (thus, always save working files and not just a final jpg). Paying the $30 to register the copyright just gives you more evidence to prove it's yours.

The problem is the owner of the copyright has to be the one to press charges, and in most cases the cost of doing that is bigger than any settlement you'd get, especially if that particular person didn't have art stolen for financial gain. In the case of the person who had art stolen and prints made of it, they could sue for more and maybe offset the cost of doing so.

But judging from the huge number of people she's done this to, I doubt any threat of legal action would stop her (she's probably gotten a number of 'em), and even if she was found guilty, she'd most likely just have to pay a settlement. Not like she'd go to prison or anything, and then she's just off stealing under a new name. . . . .

Here's the problem-she just keeps doing it-we have no idea why-right now it's for money. If it's fame she's seeking-she's certainly got that now. (or rather she's imfamous)

There are more--I'm sorry to say this--updates on that site--mostly fiction now--
but there is one on Elfwood that they aren't taking down-I've no idea why-
probably because I can't name the true artist-but I have the same pics with 3 to 4 different signatures from banned accts.

Maybe someone here will recognize them-they would have been stolen originally (and maybe even physically) about 2 years ago. Like is anyone missing a sketch book or 3? I'm not kidding about this.

The name on the Elfwood acct is Angel 'White Angel' Greshka -I matched the e-mail address to hers as well as the art to AJay Lin Shorn, Paine of Spira, Starlight Dragon........if you can't find the elfwood acct for some reason-screenshots under the listed above in the screenshot gallery. (aka the evidence gallery)

Also-I tried to make the site easier to navigate for you. (see original post for URL)
I made the aliases list easier to read also-In a list in alphabetical order-not a paragraph anymore.

There are some artists on FanartCentral who got ripped by Stacey-to name a couple-Purple Princess and Inumaru-Chan that's why I posted this to begin with-so you all know to check. Look in the gallery called "Stolen By Stacey - artist info needed" even if it's not yours but your know whose it is-let me know-please!

BTW-some of the artists she's ripping off-aren't losing $10.00 here and there-they are losing thousands of dollars to her. Some of these artists have the registered ISBN # of their books that she's ripping off-this has become a serious matter. She's buying copies of their books and running off cheap copies on her "all-in-one" scanner/copier machine.

Wow! Thats a hell of alot of artists shes ripping off. And if she is taking work off of books then shes really going to get it maybe from the book people through copyrights.

Well, at least I won't have to be worrying about my art being stolen. It's so craptastic, I'm surprised people look at it at all. Ah well. I'm definitely no expert with this stuff, so I'll leave it to the mods. ^^;
