Stereotypes...

Ever notice how common stereotypes are in our society? ' Oh, she's so preppy' 'Blondes are stupid.' 'Emo's are fags.'.

Notice it now? We use it in our everyday lives. It came from one person, and spread down generations, and now look. It seems no one can go one day without saying something about a stereotype.

People are people. My best friend Kim loves pink, loves stuffed animals, likes cheerleading, rap, hip hop, R&B.. all of that. She's known as a 'prep' at my school. The most hated 'prep' by the more 'bitcher preps' mind you.

What about 'Gothics'? My friend Dani loves black, just because the color of it. She likes My Chemical Romance, along with David Bowie and others. She's herself, always has been. Yet she's labeled a 'goth'.

'Posers'. They are just trying something new. They like a certain kind of music. Who gives a s**t? They'll realize it's not for them and go back to themselves.

'Jocks, cheerleaders' ALL OF THAT! It's not right, it's not true, and it's not cool. People are themselves. We have our own tastes, our own feelings, and our own dislikes and likes.

Main point of this topic you ask? What do you think on this stereotypical world we live in now? Do you think Stereotypes will ever die out within our society?

"Mingbag" In the world of Garry's mod for Half life 2, These happy folk, Forgot to put in there names. (aka, Unnamed in the normal game) So, These poor fellows are killed. Before they'd get rid of all our stuff we're makeing at the time. :(

"Geeks" Just cuz you might like computers, you become a geek. :mellow:

"Nerds" Just cuz you might play Chess... You become a nerd.

Not really. My friends hate some other 'preps' in the school, as they hate her as well. So that doesn't really stand up for the world of stereotypes.

But I do agree with you there Brad. I don't think they'll ever die out.

yeah but i relaly don't think a person should hate another person because of what they look like or their interests...i think that is racist.

I mean brad is a good example. going around everywhere calling some person a "gawth fag" no offense brad but wtf? i do nbot understan that... i really don't believe in many flames because of what you like.

It's like when i walk into my school,i get a lot of negative things said to me because i don't like one thing or another. I admit... i like my chemical romance, hawthorn heights, even good charlotte. but that dosn't give people a right to not like them.....

I don't get how stereotypicals even came upon this world. Anyone know the history of stereotypes?

Like I stated above, it helps people find a common intrest and meet people they like.

One of my good friends is Goth, but I still hate the whole idea of the 'cut urself and pose on suicide girls with your legs spread, LMAO'

Individuals I love, the people with the clubs and armbands I hate.

No i dont have the history.And i dont think its completely right or wrong. some people love their stereotype..Like oh say..me Razz

. But some dont. i think its wrong in a way...but if it describes who you are then whats the harm in it? if someone is called like a geek or a nerd or whatever..and its not who they are or how they feel they are..then i view it as wrong.but if you're called something that you are...then i dont think of it as necessarily wrong.

Oh well, I hate preps, because I know I'm highewr than they are, they're stupid and keep saying "like omg running should be illeagle!" whatever, I'm sick of hearing that, they're so feeble, and I don't like feeble. I'll just let them go, but when I hear them make a stupid feeble comment, I'll hit myself with a test book, or a rock, or I'll throw it at them xD

O hate emos cause they are annoying, I understand that I used to be one, but that's all in the past, emos just want to cut themselve, and they complain on and on how they want to rebel against their parents. But they have good reasons sometimes, like their parents not letting them go to their friends house or something, or not swearing, well swearing does suck, but hey c'mon, kids swear, can't be stopped, it's the tiny kids that we must teach not to swear or else swearing is immortal. But they're still annoying, thinking no one understands them and they want to kill themselves.

I hate gangsters for good reasons, they like it when they get caught, or else, they're buddies do when they cheer for them in the parking lot. All and all, they suck.

We all stereotype, and that's never going to change, nobody would like anyone if nobody hated someone, that's just the way of life, if people don't have a good backup for what they're trying to say, they're idiots, and you have ta save them or just let them go.
If I don't have a good reason for backing up my opinion, then I prolly didn't say all that I wanted to.
When life brings you down like this, just say "f**k it"

Streotyping is convinient, that's why people constantly use them, only that racial streotyping is a taboo now, people only do it unconciously, now the general populace have moved onto streotyping politically correct groups, such as emos, goths, those contemporary fad groups.

In either way, it won't die out, it'll just move to something else, and it's not compeletely harmful.

People like to classify things. If we didn't, we wouldn't have genres or ratings or departments. It makes us feel better to be able to say a person is a ____ instead of admitting we don't know anything about them.

For one, Katie, Jinx isn't a 'prep'. Nor a 'goth'. She's herself. Get that through your f**king mind! <_<

If you're going to call anyone a 'prep', it should as be me. I'm a cheerleader, I like all kinds of music, I wear bright clothing! Why? Because I am ME! I am flexible, I do hate running because I can't do it. I bitch at people, I'm not perfect, I'm not a self absorbed sort of person. I AM ME.

For two, not all 'emo's' are like that. Another one of my friends, now in Virginia had a horrible lifestyle. Mother died, father commit suicide, foster parents hated him, lost family in Katrina. But he never cut himself, he was always just a shy, quiet sort of person.

Another thing Katie, the whole 'I'm SOO much higher than they are!" is stupid. We are all made equal, you aren't god, you aren't Jesus, you're another person in this world. Stop being a self absorbed jerk. Plus, hate to break it to you, you sound like a 'prep.'

So, Katie? Four words in one acronym: STFU.

She's a prep to me, but that is what she is....wait, she is who she is, I am who I am, you are who you are, jinz is herself and a prep in my eyes, MY eyes. I do admitt that I am ignorent, that is also apart of me.

Me saying that I am higher than them (the appropreite way....[sp]) Because I am, I see the preps, they're no one. Sure, they'll get a misses dgree, and just find husbands and keep themselves supported becoming no one at all, not making anything of themselves. But oh well, none of my concerns, still letting it go, but I'll complain about it when I'm in a crappy mood....or just say 'f**k it'

That's very fourtunet for this person that stayed strong, that's no emo. I'm talkin' about emos, who are fragile, who would kill themselves if that happened to them. You friend isn't. See my point?

Another thing, if you were going get to know her, you'd also know she'd be the true definition of a 'gothic' person. One who perfers darker things over light or whatever it is...

99.9999% of "goth" people are not goth. Period. Unless they're currently 25-40+ years old and were part of the early 80s subculture.
