I hope this is the right section. I would post this in art history but this seems a little too general for history.
I have this paper to do for my ceramics class and its pretty simple. We have to write about a famous ceramic artist and like relate our work to his. The problem is that I have no idea who are any famous ceramic artists. The only one coming to mind is Micheangelo but thats so overdone and obvious that it just doesn't interest me.
My style is is pretty contemporary and modern. Sort of like when you use just bold primary colors or just black and white while the focus of the piece is like the odd shape of it. Although I am very fond of carving my work as well. I think I end up carving designs into my work more so than making contemporary pieces.
I can't find any ceramic artists who work like that though. Even if I could find an artist who strictly carved or was strictly contemporary then I would be set. But so far all I have found are links to museums who offer to sell their pieces. Does anyone know any good ceramic artists I could do this report on?
This will be greatly appreciated. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

There's Auguste Rodin (sp?) with the Thinker.
but he's more of a sculptor than a ceramic artist... :/ _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |
