Manga To Anime- Which Ones Suck?

When a manga gets licensed to become an anime, the art quality nearly always falls. It's a given, and it's justifiable. In one week, a team of people must draw every single frame, draw every single background, color/shade them, animate them, make the sound effects, do the voice overs, and many other things. A manga artist "simply" has to draw one chapter of images, but nowhere NEAR as many images as the animators, because it's not moving. So the manga nearly always turns out higher quality looking than the anime.

They also always tend to edit a lot. Leaving out things such as blood, gore, sex/nudity, and other things. Seeing as they air them on TV, I guess that's acceptable.

But some cases are just pathetic. =/ Which anime do you guys think is just totally low-quality and overall inferior to its manga? In both plot and art quality?

I'd have to say Get Backers. >.0 The art in the manga was awesome. Beautiful, realistic, really impressive. The art in the anime SUCKED. And it was edited beyond recognition. Oo; And they just randomly decided to change things so they made even LESS sense. Hi, it's weird that Akabane can randomly materialize scalpels from inside his body. So now we're going to make them glowy blue scalpels!!!!11 =D ... I swear, every element of that guy was destroyed. Oo

That, and they pissed away about half the series. They just... stopped the show. D: Maybe it was for the better.

So uh... yeah. Make sure to explain things, lest this becomes yet another "list" topic. D:

hmm... I have to say that Getbackers sucked both in Anime and manga...

however, I'd say Bleach is poorly done, they just can't copy that artstyle to moving animation.

the love hina anime is worst in my opinion..
the artwork is no where near as good as in the manga... and so many cut scenes Sad

I agree with Tom, Love Hina anime sucked, not that the Manga didnt. But, in comparison, I give the Manga a slight nod.

The Negima anime was horrid, just, awful. It made me want to gouge my eyes out for having to witness Chisame with Green Hair. Manga for the win.

Fruits Basket just sucked ass in the anime department, the art was awful compaired to the Manga's art (in the early volumes, at least)..

I could go on and on.

It's kind of normal that the aniome isn't as good as the manga since it's not the same person who does it. Some sure are good to redraw but they have to make each pose for the anime and not the manga so it makes difference. Also there is the time to make them. For the anime, they gotta make it quick but for the manga, they have their time to do it and don't need to try making it look like the original since they are the one who created the characters.
There usually is more detail in the manga than anime too... Another point for the manga

What about Animes that come before the Mangas?

Personally (don't laugh now) I loved the first two seasons of Digimon (they should as stopped after 02... >.> but let's not get into that), but the manga adaptation of it was just... well.. BAD. They shortened and cut out so much stuff it sickened me Razz

Evangelion is unique since the manga TECHNICALLY started before the anime, but the manga still hasn't finished yet after 10 years the anime ended.

I like the manga better, the artstyle in the volume 7 particularly is love.

I swear that anime needs to DIE, RIGHT NOW. DIE.

i hate it so much. They fucked everything up, gave everyone crappy dubbed voices that sound sh*tty.

It's one big pile o' s**t.

Though I am absolutely in love with the manga <3

I haven't seen the bleach anime, but the manga is awesome. :wub:

OMG thank you for that. TMM and it's entire fanbase is a sin. Sailor Moon is all of the Magical Girl anime this world needs, thnx.

SPEAKING of Sailor Moon, I like..really loved the Manga, but the anime was sub par, it lost alot of it's charm when I saw it on TV, imo.

Boboboubo boubobo was actually funny at one point? I watched the first episode unsubbed about a year ago, and boy, was that a real mindtrip! I took a look at the first chapter of the manga to see if it made any more sense and sadly, it did not. It's so random, my mind can't even begin to comprehend it.
