In art class we're working with paint, and I seriously hate painting. I'm horible with that media. I have sooo musch trouble mixing in the black and white color to make the paint lighter or darker. Its frustrating! Banghead So I was just wondering what everyone elses most hated/annoying media is. Which one can't you work with? Which one, no matter how hard you try, you just can't get it right that it gets on your nerves?

Yeah, just wondering....

Yeah, painting annoys me too. Once I get into it, I'm pretty good, but since I only have an hour and a half a day to do it, I never really have the chance.

My recent watercolor painting got water spilled on it. D: I wanted to strangle the kid who knocked my water cup over. ><

Gouache and Oil painting isn't so annoying as they can easily be fixed, however, watercolor and markers annoy me to no end.

Pastels are nice, getting them in your eyes are not.

I for one love painting... But that's probably because I've taken classes outside of school... And I don't use black. My teacher took it away over a year ago and hasn't let me ue it since.

For me the most annoying media is watercolor... The pastely colors annoy me and I tend to loose control and screw up somewhere important. And I'm too impacient to build up the colors...

I also can't use pencils anymore- their inability to go dark gets on my nerves...^^

Pencils can go dark. D: You just need to have good kinds. A regular 2b pencil ain't gonna cut it. Razz

True... But you'll hardly ever get that nice rich dark that charcole gives you. I've used plenty of 6b pencils, even an ebony or two... but I still preffer using charcole. When I put a pencil in my hand I think "writing" and since my pencil grip is crap anyway, I can't quite control my line the way I'd like too. I should practice this, but I'd much preffer charcole or graphite sticks. They're more confortable for me.

I love charcole, pencil, crayon (the devil! *gasp*). Mostly anything I can directly control.

I despise painting of all kinds (except digital). I can't mix colors at all, which is half the problem. I can't control a brush either. It just doesn't work for me like a stick of lead or compressed dirt. But I can still do caligraphy. Which is weird.

I love watercolors, but they're just so damn annoying sometimes, so I stick to Photoshop ^^ you can get the watercolor effect, without all the mess.

I suck with paint, because I usually like to do all my work in one sitting, but I can't wait for the paint to dry, and I end up messing it up. <_<

Crayons suck too.

I don't like crayons either. I don't like oil pastels too much, cause they get everywhere, @-@.

But for things that i really want to keep and stuff, i'll probably use oil pastels, maybe even regular pastels (they are worse) and probably some paint. I like paint. : )

I for one, i can mix colours, but then after that, i have a hard time controlling the brushes movement (the small tipped ones), painting is a pain in the neck to me thats why i use the computer.

Without a doubt it has to be watercolors. I'm always in a hurry and forget to let it dry and then try to colors something next to what I just did. I swear even things that are dry bleed together just to get me mad. The only good picture I made ended up having a cup of water spilt on it. What luck I have.

I don't get along very well with chalk pastels. I always forget how smudgy they can get and I end up putting my hand on the paper then I get all over not only my hand but my cloths and even my face >.> I walked around with blue pastel on my nose and cheek all day once before and no one said anything! D:

Charcoal!! I hate that stuff so much!
I'd rather paint around during lifedrawing than using the bloody charcoal! Banghead

I've had a troubling time with colored pencils. Since I don't ink (my lineart is strictly pencil) colored pencils just smear everything, especially in small areas. Of course, if I'm really careful it's not quite as bad, but I also have a tendency to push down too hard because I'm used to using crappy roseart or colortech pencils. (I can tell you, if you don't already know, that Roseart mislabel their pencils! I got a 'pink' once that was orange and a 'blue' that was purple. *tsk tsk*) I'm still in the habit of doing that, even with prismacolors.

And since I just stated it, pens and inking. I've had the worst trouble with these, from finding pens that will actually WRITE over pencil, won't bleed, and are the right thickness, so I don't even bother anymore.

I find pastels annoying, they smudge too much and I always end up with traces of blue and red on my face Grr!
Although I think that the effects it can give are pretty amazing Smile

I hate paint of all kinds! Water colours are so ... well ... watery and they dry too fast. You can't shade with them while they are still wet.... grrrr!!! Banghead And they bleed together and you have to use tissue paper to mop up the mess. you end up with huge white patches in the shading. Then the paper warps!!!! Hate them.. <_< But then I suppose if I used them more, I'd get betta. . . . . Ha! That'll happen in a hurry! Laughing
