not really, because you have to deal with lots of cropping (for thumbnail) and uploading it through photobucket and stuff, it cuts a lot of the "OMG, I drew a chibi Inuyasha" crowd.

but the overall art quality isn't greatly different.

Sounds like they don't have an upload function. Advantage: Conserves server space. Disadvantage: Broken links.
