Ok, I use (on my other computer) a windows XP. Well it was working on sunday (I cleaned out some hidden files and then had to make two new things so wtf, but it was working still).
But then someone in my family shut it off and whenever i tried to sign on to a name it would show the icons then just the background with nothing on it, then the icons, then the background and it would just keep repeating it. What the f**k is wrong with my computer?
Is it a virus? _________________

Nah, it was probably one of the things you deleted. Windows is notorious for still working when necessary files are deleted, but on start up it'll just decide to eat itself.
Also, have you changed any of the display settings recently? Like some monitors will behave erratically if the resolution or color depth is changed to something it can't handle (particularly on older ones).
If you can, you can probably reset the settings to one of the ones you used before it started doing this. Worse comes to worse you could reformat.
But I'm no computer techie, so I'm afraid I can't help much further than speculation.

If you reformat it will wipe the disk clean so it's best to try other things before that. Also you shouldn't really delete hidden files on it. Do you know which files you deleted?
Have you tried running your Windows XP disc on repair ? This looks for missing hidden files and replaces them . Good luck . |

The only Hidden files that I deleted were some recent document thing (the recent documents) and this Nuser crap. That was it.
I did a system Restore and this is what happened.
Ok, my teacher told me to do a system restore, so i did. And it was all fine and dandy until my mom signed online this morning. Because after a few minutes of being online the taskbar and the icons disappeared. WTF. This is pissing me off. :/ And then I made another restore and it did it again.
And none of what you're telling me is helping at all. _________________

If I'm correct, it's probably a Trojan. They eat your desktop. _________________ |

Yeah well, I got a new program called NoAdware, right? we found a trojan on there but deleted it. But it still messing up. I'm still not sure what to do. : (
We went onto HP's main site and they told us to delete a person's name who's desktop might be corrupt which was mine, but that still didn't help.
I hate my computer. :: kicks.::
edit:
Well it said like trojan.something or another, so i'm assuming that it was a trojan. _________________

Ok, I hate to double post, but I like to keep people updated.
Noadware's been good. but since no one could help me out i asked people at my school and they are like "Get a virus scanner" (which noadware is... <_< ) and then i was like, wtf, and tried some research.
it says here on this website:
http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/security/trojan.html
That virus scanners really don't work to fix the problem.
And the only way to be really rid of the damage is to have you're system completely made over again.
This is no good. : ( _________________

You could always boot up in safemode and delete the trojan yourself, but it's probably too late for that. Just run a system restore, it's no big deal, and you should be up and running within half an hour. _________________ |

Take everything you want to keep that was hard to find (Files, website favorites, ect.) and burn the mto a cd, then do an os reinstall. OR Take it to best buy and get geek squad to fix it. |

How about doing it three times and that still not working?
<_<

Ha, like my dad would ever do that. He gets pissy on getting a new modem for the computer. And secondly, our warrenty is out. And thirdly, we didn't buy it from best buy we bought it from a military base.

Geek Squad will fix it even if you didn't buy it from them. If you don't do that or an os reinstall your stuck with a screwed computer... |

Yeah i know. I think i'm stuck with it. Because my dad is an ass and doesn't think anything of getting things fixed.
Oh f**king well. It was probably his porn sites that brought on the trojan anyway. :(
I wish i had enough money to buy my own laptop. _________________

Just because you installed a virus scanner software does not Automatically mean that your computer is Protected. you must tell it to scan or set it up to scan weekly.
and deleting hidden files would not trigger a Trojan virus. a Trojan Is triggured By a set date and time from the computer's internal clock.(It will Randomly trigger itself) you have probably deleted a hidden folder that Kept all Users' account information
Try Safe mode by pressing F8 repeatally when you boot the PC then select safe mode then it should load the welcome screen with odd colors(Black and white) and select Admin and create new accounts. |
