How can you say that people are 'bad' if you don't really give them the time? Sure, I think that people are ignorant, narrow-minded assholes (shut up, I am NOT a hypocrite), but none the less, they are not 'bad'. Standards in society are just different from standards from fifty years ago. You have to get with the times, the world is always changing. |

People suck, such is life. Contrary to what you may think, I'm sure there's a shitload of people out there who think you're "bad". But ya know what the measure of a good person is? The fact they'll forgive people for not being perfect and don't judge everyone within the first five minutes of meeting them.
Now what I think about the male population.... nothing. They're all different. Some are more like chicks than I am; some are arrogant bastards; some are pathetic little pussies; some pretend to be badasses; I can't say I have an overall opinion of them. But most men are pigs, and I love them for it.
If you never give anyone a chance, of course you'll never trust them because they won't trust you. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Haha, you take us too seriously, pookie. You're talking about younger chicks, right? Because girls in their 20s or older should be well past such stupid mind games, and even younger ones shouldn't do it (but they do). You must really be around some awful chicks to have been burned enough times to have given up on the female gender completely.
Really, in my opinion, what you're looking for is more than a lot of girls that age want. It seems you want to completely bypass the fun exploration years and go straight to completely serious, settle down and be exclusive forever stage, which is fine if that's what you want, but it'll be much harder for you to find girls your own age who want to do that, too, as you seem to have found out. Perhaps, instead of being so bitter against us, relax and be friends with chicks until you happen to find one who does like you and has the same goals for a relationship. You are unlike most males, as you said before, and to be perfectly honest (please don't get offended, I don't mean it that way) your focus on love and relationships comes off a tiny bit desperate.
If you just eased up a little and didn't take everything so seriously, you might find we're not that bad. Being blown off by a girl is not the end of the world. If she didn't like you, so what? Would you rather she pretend? No, saying she liked you to spare your feelings isn't right, but some girls don't know how to just say they don't like you.
As for your 7 day deadline...um...there's such a thing as calling the girl yourself. I know it seems like if they like you, they'll call, but a lot of girls like knowing YOU dug THEM enough to want to see them again. We'll assume the same thing. If you don't call, you didn't like us. What's the worst that could happen by calling her? She says she doesn't want to go out again? Oh well, at least you know for sure she isn't crazy about you and dying for you to call. Or she might say she did enjoy it but in reality not like you, but that's just something you have to find out. If she continuously makes excuses to not see you again, fine, move on. We're not evil, and most girls can't be bothered to go on tons of pity dates just to let you down easily. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. old quote; cant live with 'em and cant live without 'em.
pretty simple...youll never find an exact match, just find what you can tollerate and what you like to see. throw a coin and hopefully itll work. _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. ^ See. He speaks the truth.
I prefer "Can't live with 'em, can't play mind games without 'em" but that's probably not the best quote in the context of this discussion.

*sigh* When they're in this young stage that they are in now, they're pretty much all arrogant, boys and girls, except for a selective few. Most girls are interested and being popular and going out with the hottest guy they can find, and most guys right now are only interested in the preppy cheerleader type. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't relate to all people. It's just the way things are right now. If your lucky, you might find someone when your in highschool that's unlike everyone else, but usually, people get into the serious relationships when they're older. Don't get too sad right now. There's someone out there for everyone. |

I'm supposed to be popular? Dammit! I've completely fucked this up then. I didn't get the memo. We'll just leave out the "go out with the hottest guy" part, 'cause that'd just make a whole new level of sad. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. It just seems like that's the way it is at my school. It's just like that chicflic, Thirteen going on thirty. It really relates to this topic. |

Hm, haven't seen it. Looked like Big, only retold with a chick. I can say I'm officially tired of everyone wetting themselves over this Mean Girls thing.

It all depends on what you're exposed to, I think. I've been in classes with just about the same people since 7th grade, and we all get along together really well regardless of our sex. Maybe I just got lucky and just happened to be stuck in a class with abnormally nice and funny guys, or maybe I'm used to them cuz I haven't experienced much else.
What's my point to this rambling?
Well..... try talking to the High Performance or Advanced Placement or Whatever-the-hell-they-call-it-at-your-school students. Assuming you're in school (which I did). Usually they're more mature than the rest of the student body. |

The opposite sex is no different than the same sex with the exception of hormones. _________________ |

Well, and a few anatomical additions here n' there... which I suppose are the result of hormones for the most part, but still... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Moron
Jackass
Taken
There are of course exeptions, but these unfortunatly seem to be rare in my area... _________________

It's not just hormones. It's also the gender roles that society places upon us from birth. You know - girls = pink, boys = blue, girls play dolls while boys play with trucks - that kinda thing. I'm not saying that everybody is like that (I, for one, played with dolls and trucks) but that's the stereotype that everyone is concsious of. |

If that stereotype was true then I'd be a little of both. Don't really play with dolls or trucks (make-belive bores the crap out of me), but I do love crocheting needles and drill bits. I miss shop class. _________________ |

Oh I know that not everybody fits the gender stereotypes, and it's nice to see that the gender roles are a lot more ambiguous these days, but there are activities and clothing styles that are still most definitely "masculine" and "feminine." For example, most guys wouldn't be caught dead in a dress. They also are terrified of showing their feelings, for the most part. Therefore guys will often come across as "jerks" or "insensitive." (Sorry to any guys out there, but I'm just callin' it like I see it.)
And conversely, there are a lot of girls who are pressured to conform to these standards of beauty and behavior. They try to emulate glamorous women like Brittany Spears or any of those model people, and thus many act like divas (aka bitches). |

I saw about 10 men in dresses last night. It was to make breast cancer survivors feel better about their appearance. I took pictures! _________________ |

Men in dresses make me laugh. Except the ones that look good... That's a little freaky, but I ain't complainin'. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

It's strange that women can dress in pants and nobody cares but if a guy wears a skirt or dress then everybody notices. It's just clothing - people shouldn't really care. |
