Heard of it? It's the announced FPS title for Nintendo's [s]Revolution[/s] [i]Wii[/i] console.

Strata's no fan of FPS, but the current issue of Game Informer did a cover story on it. Ubisoft is working closely with Nintendo to make sure that they're designing the entire game around the controller's sensitivity. They're not just trying to make it a standard FPS with a point-and-shoot controller, they're working on taking FPS to [s]the next[/s] [i]a whole new[/i] level.

The game is basically about a Western guy going to Japan and taking on the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza.

Which is kinda symbolic since Ubisoft is a Western developer and they're making a game set in Japanese culture.

Among the innovations they're working on:

- Wireless controller becomes your virtual gun (and sword, too). Point and shoot, swing and slash. Since it'll be a lot quicker to simply "point & shoot", the enemies are going to be quicker and more aggressive than in a standard FPS, and will have realistic AI.
- Background music and effects echo your skill & finesse with the controller itself.
- Some emphasis placed on being able to defeat an enemy without [i]killing[/i] them, particularly against bosses. If you can ally one of them to your side, then....

I didn't read the article, but I scimmed through it.

I don't think I'd buy it if I got a Wii, but I'd still play it if a friend got it.

Although they're fun, I'm not much of a FPS guy.
