I'm not much of a theatre fan, but last year I went to the movies, like, every single week because it seemed that good movies were coming out left and right. W/Out a Paddle, Bourne Supremacy, Collateral, Ray, etc. This year, though, there is NOTHING OUT THERE. It's like purgatory or limbo or something. The last movie I saw was the Wallace and Gromitt (who totally rock) and that was the first good movie for me in six months. Which is really sad. So, is 2005 the year of bad repeats and adaptations? _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

King Kong is coming out soon and that movie is going to rock hard. Also, Jar Head is another movie I need to see. _________________

2004 was a fantastic year, even for me, a person who isn't fond of 99% of mass market movies.
But Shaun of the Dead, Seed Of Chucky, Hotel Rwanda, Garden State, Meet The Fockers...
This year has severely lacked in things worth seeing. Very unfortunate, but I have no spare money to be seeing movies anyway. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Jarhead was pretty good. I went to see it with a bunch or people at work. The first half while the guy's at training camp is the best. Really funny :)
But yeah :/ Besides a select handful, there hasn't been all that much out there. Sigh... and I finally have a car this year too when I could actually drive there whenever I wanted to see something too _________________

This year was plagued by remakes,
but it doesn't matter because I don't watch movies! _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I see the whole movie buisness as being about 98% of all the movies out in theaters suck all ass, most of them get only 2 stars or less, I'm flattered to see some of today's movies get 3. Get rich or die tryin', oh god, may curtis dye, for three reasons: 1. because of a crappy name 2. because he sucks 3. the movie will suck, but I understand that all the gangsters and other sh*tty people will look at it as a insperation and thinking that it'll be a way for them to get in the music buisness.
Anyways, I see only a seldom of movies that are good, the rest have too much sex that's not even need, sucks man.
I beg God for me to actually she Shaun of the dead, I know that movie kicked ass, oh please god please.

Shaun of the Dead is most brilliant.
I don't pay attention to ratings 'cause I love "bad" moves. Seed of Chucky got, what, C- from most places? But I love it. Excessively. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

It's like, every single year, Hollywood starts panicking because they can't find any good screenwriters...Soooo they just take an old movie or a book or someone's life and make it for the big screen. They've run out of ideas. Has anyone here seen "The Fly"? The one about that guy turning into a fly? Yeah, they're remaking that one too for THE THIRD TIME!! Sometimes I'm glad when they make a book into a movie because it's about time, and other times it's just like. Yech. 2004 definetely was a better year. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

YO, what about Pride & Prejudice and Harry Potter and In Her Shoes and Hal's Moving Castle (which i didn't see but so wanted to)? I saw Pride & Prejudice a week ago, and i was suprised by how good it was. Of course I will always think of Collin Firth as Mr. Darcy, but the movie itself rocked! Go see it if you want a good movie. And don't mind chick flicks. |

Laurence Olivier, thank you very much. Kickin' it old school. Had to watch that version in an English class, he was the only good part. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Old school is ALWAYS (well, almost) better than the new kids. Those damn punks w/ their rap music and skateboards *waves cane* When I was your age...
Those movies do look pretty good. I just saw the fourth Harry Pothead and I must say it was bad. The acting was barely up to pat and the script was drowning the very few that could act. It made me sad. Walk the Line looks good, though. Same w/ Paradise Now, Underworld 2 and Syriana. But that's it for me, I think. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

Houseof Wax was another movie which had been remade twice before.
First in the thirties, where the novelty was colour.
Then in the fifties when the novelty was 3-D (and Vincent Price)
But what was the novety this time? Paris Hilton's death scene? _________________ |

Everybody in the theatre clapped when Paris got that pipe through her head. Not that I blame 'em.
God, I hate remakes like that. I swear, if they remake the Godfather or an old Hitchcock film again I AM going to kill somebody.

My friend shouted "Where's tinkerbell now, bitch?!". And then people laughed and cheered.
The novelty was all the special effects, as well. I don't think I ever heard someone compliment the movie if it wasn't about Paris dying or how cool it looked to see pieces of the guy's face break off. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Ahhh...Such a life when the movie sucks and the only good part is either when a: the annoying slut dies *coughs Paris* or b: when all the characters die and the bad guy lives happily ever after.
That's so...Morbid. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |
