Aparently it's a fashion statement, ugly fat women and gay men parade around in frilly dresses and big shoes wearing a sickening amount of makeup.

Last time I checked, Lolita meant underage slut, not undesireable middleaged women and gays.

I've never understood the term "gothic lolita". Whenever someone mentions it, my brain goes, "wtf are you talking about?"

I remember one chick I was talking to said that her brother was into gothic lolita, like where people dressed up in big fancy black dresses, and I was like,"What the hell. Lolita is underage girl sex."

It bothers me that people use that [s]people use that term in general[/s] as a label for something unrelated. o.o; _________________

It's just old people who want to be seductive little ten year olds again.

Which brings me to my next question: Why is it still called "loli" if the little girl obviously does not approve of the sexual situation? _________________ FAC |

 Haven't you seen those doujinshi?

They never don't approve. :0

They're apparently too young to understand the right/wrong of it all, and as a result, they don't disapprove.

...

This is all speculation, of course. _________________

It's based on the character. A broader sense of cosplay.

Considering "lolita" was not originally little girl porn. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Not all of them; those are the ones I'm talking about. I've seen plenty of disapproval on n4chan. D: _________________ FAC |

 | Saw that used as a title for a drawing. Thing is - the drawing was SOOOO stolen - posted almost a year after I used it as a visual reference to make a drawing of my own. LOL and I felt bad for THAT. |

There's a book from the 50s, Lolita, story of a pedophile really. But "lolita" became the general term for sexualized little girls, not explicit porn or "omg hump me now plz". So "gothic lolita" is a young girl in pretty clothing generally meant for much older women and the old english gothic look. A young girl in black and blue corset, lace, skirt, etc. would be lolita.

Other people dressing in the style is a broad cosplay to the stereotype. Men dressing up as the sailor moon characters are no more accurate.

Loli is just a bastardization of it, further sexualizing the girls to modern standards. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Vladimir Nabokov, do a amazon search, buy the book used.

Nobody ever researches the history behind the term, which is saddening. :\ _________________ |

Personally I think the whole thing is sick, and why anyone would choose to make a trend out of it is beyond me. You could just say, Classic Goth or something like that

but no

we always have to sexualize

Yes, I know, I've read part of the book. Did anyone else need to know? Not really. A google search for "lolita" turns up 800 listings for the book. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
