The Most Screwed-around-with Characters

In your opinion, which character from any video game for any system is the one who gets the most screwed around with/ tripped up/ tricked/ duped/ fooled/ ripped off/ etc.?

(SPOILERS HERE)
My opinion? Princess Ovelia Atkascha, from Final Fantasy Tactics. That girl has her life ripped apart, her status made a joke of, her royal blood revealed to be a deception, her purpose made worthless, her free will cut off by the deceptions of others who move her like a pawn for their own pitiful little schemes, her sanity toyed and tested to the breaking point, her rescuers turned to her enemies, and finally, she gets stabbed by the last person she thought she could trust and dies without ever being able to lend meaning to her falsified life.

If anybody in any game has it worse than that, I'd like to know who and how.

Princess Peach. No matter how many times Mario saves her, she ends up getting kidnapped again. Give her a rest! lol, just kidding around.

I've never played Final Fantasy Tactics, but that does sound like she got screwed around with really badly. Sad

I also felt bad for Presea Combatir in Tales of Symphonia. Being in a situation where she could've eventually died, she ends up being helped, regaining her true self, only to find that her "time was stolen." (She is actually around 28 years old, but because of what happened to her, she remained in the appearance of her 12-year old self). Presea also finds out that she had been taking care of a rotten corpse that was her father during the time she wasn't herself. She also finds that her sister's murderer is a friend, and ends up not being able to do anything to avenge her. Along with that, her hometown is destroyed.

Not as bad as the FFT character you mentioned, but I still felt sorry for her.

Knuckles The Echidna

Every single time he gets fooled by Dr.Robotnik. He is just too gullible. He never learns his lesson no matter how many times Sonic points it out.

final fantasy IX, blank, in the first disc he gets turned to stone. why?! the guy was powerful, helped the main charater alot, but no you couldn't keep his as a member of the group. he had to get turned to stone. well i also think Vivi too cause vivi is almost alway depressed and he's a breathing living doll that was made to kill (like chucky ~clears throut~) but vivi is cooler than chucky in my opinion.

Princess Ovelia gets stabbed?? I never finished the game and I never really will *Been trying for a year now* And how does she get her sanity toyed with? Im not saying your wrong, no, I just wanna know what happens since I didnt get that far.

Remember though, Blank was cured with Supersoft.

Mine's has to be Kazuki from [i]Front Mission 3[/i]. His father sacrifices his life to try and stop Lukav, then when Kazuki saves the day, his sister Alisa does the same to stop the city being destroyed.

I felt bad for almost everybody in Tales of Symphonia. Even Mithos (a little). Those characters were all so likeable and so sympathetic, you had to feel sorry for them. I didn't feel sorry for Genis until the whole Tower of Salvation-barrier part, but once I did, I REALLY did... Sad

I really liked Presea a lot, and I felt really sorry for her as well...

Essentially what happens is that, after Delita kidnaps her at the beginning of the game, she gets--

1. Kidnapped back by Ramza and Agrias (her best friend and personal guard).
2. Taken to safety at Cardinal Draclau's castle, except Cardinal Draclau is a traitor and hands her right over to Vormav.
3. Told that she's not the real Princess Ovelia, but in fact a fake for the real Princess, who died when she was very young.
4. Left alone in a dungeon for weeks.
5. Approached by Delita again, who plays nice to win her trust.
6. Dragged into the middle of a power struggle between Lord Larg and Lord Goltana, both of whom want her dead, but one (Goltana) of whom is willing to manipulate her first.
7. Informed that the friends she used to have at the monastery she's spent most of her life in have been killed.
8. Shoved onto the throne by Goltana, displacing the child she has believed is her younger brother and earning the enmity of half the country.
9. Used as a figurehead to start the Lion War.
10. Nearly assassinated.
11. Married to Delita, the guy who kidnapped her and is still deceiving her.
12. Kept entirely in the dark as the war rages and people use her name, power, and position in order to further their own plots (Delita chief among them).
13. Bundled from location to location to keep her alive so Delita can still use her for his war.
14. And, with the Lion War completed, Delita stabs her.

Wonderful ending, isn't it? Banghead

Yeah, I also felt really sorry for Regal Bryant, since he ended up having no choice but to kill the love of his life.

And I forgot the details about that one ending where Zelos dies. Would you happen to remember what exactly leads him to his death?

It's been a loooooong while, but I remember Kain from Final Fantasy IV (or "II" as it was released in North America) is the first video game character ever I felt very bad for. My memory is fuzzy on the details though. Sad

Having never gotten that ending, I can't say I do... WTF?

I don't own ToS, I just have a friend who does. And we got Zelos back at the end, so he didn't die, so no, I don't know. Sorry... >.<

Zelos only dies if you took part in 3 or 4 training scenes with Kratos and you got zelos to hate you. Any way I feel realy bad for Sheena, she accidentily gets half her village killed and then Corrine dies. Sad

But you can get Corrine back, so that's good. The sad part for Sheena is how life seems to hate her...she gets dropped down more pits, attacked by more monsters, and hit on more often by Zelos than anybody other than Muraki from Yami no Matsuei could possibly deserve. Poor Sheena...
