When most people think of art, the Mona Lisa crosses their mind, or the confusing works of Picasso. Very few of us, if any, think about my favorite artist, Thomas Kinkade.
One glance at his beautiful masterpieces, and you can almost feel your soul melt. His fantastic use of color and remarkable use of natural lighting makes you want to just leap into one of his paintings and live there forever. The quaint little cottages featured in his many works brings to life the entire picture. The vivid colors capture the true essence of life; you could almost smell the flowers and hear the babbling brooks in all of his breath-taking pieces.
So next time, when you think of art, leave your body behind and take your soul on a journey to Paradise: The works of Thomas Kinkade.
(Have info on this artist? Share with us! Any at all would be greatly appreciated!)
[I]The heart has its special places: quiet retreats, fragrant with the sweet perfume of flowers, bathed in the romantic light of sunset, soothed by the music of a laughing brook and droning bees. Places made possible by the precious gift of love.

I cannot stand Kinkade. His technical skill is impressive, that's fine, but his blatant marketing and questionable business practices are beyond irritating. I do not consider a print touched up with paint an "original". And all his paintings look the same.
It's living room art to hang above the couch and put on coffee mugs, nothing more. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
