Ah, Negima! Magister Negi Magi-- Another series to add to the virtually endless list of Harem comedies out there. And Ken Akamatsu curses the world with the birth of a Naru clone, big surprise. :\

But do read on.

While holding the Love Hina-esque "z0mG MAIN CHARACTER = PERVERT OMFG PANTIES" ideals close to his heart, Kenny boy brings yet another series that most will find stupid in two or so years after it's fully released, but for now, It's rather entertaining.

The main character Negi Springfield is a wizard who takes on his appointed job as an english teacher in an all girl's school, Mahora academy, but get this-- He's only ten (OMG SHOTA). And he seems to always have the Obligatory bitchy Naru character-whom he shares a dorm with. Asuna's her name this time, though. Of course, these two are seen in rather provacative but accidently achieved positions.

There's about thirty or so other girl characters, all with the lovely cliched personalities such as: Sword chick, shy chick, slutty chick, bitchy chick, geek chick, mysterious OMG VAMPIRE chick, the obligatory TO HEART inspired robot chick, the ghost chick, the Martial arts chick, ect ect ect, there's too many characters, but our young hero seems to find his way into an "almost kissing" position with all of them at one point or another.

I've only read two volumes of the Manga, the manga has the same "Leave you hanging till the next volume but the next volume will do the same to you haha lozar" flow to it that Love Hina had. The manga art is superior, the Anime seems to have the art style of an OVA that nobody would give a flying f**k about-- but it does have some very nice music.

Actually, I could go out on a limb and say that Negima = Love Hina with a fat (But extremely cute) chick, but I still reccomend it. it's fun, it's got snarkability out the ass-end and there's endless ways to compare Love Hina to it!

Oh yeah, and when Negi sneezes, Girl's skirts fly up.

Was entertaining at the start, but the production quality went down as it progressed -- at least in the anime (Haven't read the manga). And the animation quality isn't paticularily great.

Negima! gets better as it goes. Although it starts out really stupid, the action slowly takes precedence over the fanservice, and some of the girls--although admittedly mostly cliched--are still pretty interesting. And as for the "leave you hanging till the next volume"...I wish more manga had cliffhangers as good as Negima!'s.

Should probably specify now that I'm talking only about the manga, having never seen the anime.

Essentially, as long as you can handle the age difference between Negi and the girls and the blatant eighteen-ization of girls who are supposed to be 14 or lower (I'm sorry, fourteen-year-olds do NOT have breasts like Chizuru and Mana), then Negima! is a pretty good action-fantasy manga. The problem? You have to be able to deal with the age difference and the eighteen-ization.

Age difference? Not a problem. Eighteen-ization? Big problem. --.--

Oh well. I still like it.

"Eighteen-ization" is just a normal part of anime and manga.

"Eighteen-ization" irritates me. I can't take anime that doesn't give its characters a stroke of reality (although I will excuse Puchi Puri's Grenda).

I doubt I could ever get into this series. I despise harem comedies and/or romance, like To Heart. :/ Plus, I've seen Love Hina, and it wasn't anything special. In fact, I'd probably end up calling it mediocre and leaving it at that. :< So given the creator's record so far, I'm a bit dubious as to the actual quality of Negima. I really think the concept for the storyline overall is pretty bad. :/
Plus, I've seen Love Hina, and it wasn't anything special.
It really isnt anything special but it was the 1st of that kinda anime i'd ever seen so naturally i wanted to see it all the way through. Its has its good parts then there are the cheesey 1s but all in all i found it to be a good anime.Ill still look into the Negima anime a little bit and see how that is.I dont believe id get into it as much as i did Love Hina but itd still be nice to check up on.

and bad hollywood movies.

I skimmed/read Negima volume1-3 in the library. Never watching it.

I hate harem comedies and/or romance...
Then DEFINITELY don't look into Negima. --.-- The fantasy/ action thing definitely doesn't push out the harem comedy/ romance aspect...
