From what I've seen and heard, the X360 will fare better than the PS3. Some reviews show that the PS3 is somewhat better than the X360.
Here are some tidbits of what I read these recent days:
X360 is better in terms of Online, memory capacity and the entertainment system(downloads and the like). PS3 is better in terms of gameplay physics, high-res and multiplayer capacity.
Some reviews say that The PS3 will be more impressive now that the X360 is out. They say it makes for more improvements for Sony until June 2006.
In the last E3 event I've seen, they gave Sony's PS 9.5 and Microsoft's X-box series an 8 and 8.5 even if the X360 is out. Meaning if the PS3 is released, it will take the sails off of the X-box.
...But the X360 is dominating. How will PS3 catch up?, says some.

Dominating? Maybe in the U.S. That's what happens when you release a limited amount of systems: Many unhappy fans who missed out and many buyers who don't give a damn about gaming; only ebay.
But in Japan, this thing hit rock bottom. I'm talking about a worse launch than the original Xbox. The price was even lowered to increase sales. PS2 sales were considerably higher. What's the problem? Well look at the launch games. First Person Shooters. Sports games. Racing games. All of which are not indepth enough to hold a Japanese gamers interest.
It's pretty much well known that FPS's are unpopular in the east land, and that's what the Xbox is all about. Which is good and bad. There are some great games in that genre. But how many do you have to dig through?
This really disturbs me about the Xbox. The fan base is pretty much set. You're going to see many sports games, many FPS's and the like, just like the original. What does that mean for the artistic games? The beautiful masterpieces will be shunned as they have been before. If a game like Okami or Shadow of the Collosus gets released for the box, you and I both know that it will die a horrible death. Crushed by the War games and the updated rosters.
Don't get me wrong. I have a 360, and am so far satisfied. But I'm not blown away...yet. We have Kameo, which is fun, but not mind blowing. Dead or Alive has always peaked my interest. Okay, all of Team Ninja's efforts peak my interest. Square Enix will give us a port of a game that's already appeared twice...and it came out in 2004. Where's the real beef Square?? Over at the other guy's nest egg. At least for now.
Sony has a stranglehold on the market. More importantly, a very diverse fan base. You will definately see third party games flocking to the PS3. And Japan along with the whole world LOVES the Playstation. I'm worried about how the Xbox will hold it's ground when the behemoth from Sony is released. And I'm not talking about spec's, ATI versus Blue Ray etcetera. I'm talking about the leader of the pack donning a new pair of shoes. Big shoes.
Anyhow, that's what popped in my head when I read your post. |

I've heard more excitement about the PS3 than the new Xbox. The best thing I can see on the Xbox was it's internet stuff. A fair amount of people want more than sports games for a console. I know it has more stuff than sports but not the mind blowing kind of games. Sony has a ton of games that people want, childish games and mature.
In my opinion the PS3 will catch up. Don't know about the the Revolution though, even though I'm a bit interested in it. _________________ http://www.fanart-central.net/profile-Kes.php- Profile.

I'm waiting to see if KoTor III will come out on the first Xbox or the 360. And is it does I'm selling my xbox and buying the 360 that can play both types of games. As for the revulution... I don't play any nintendo games anyway. Besides I have a N64, what more could I want?
The PS3 will catch up, but I don't play any PS games any way. |

I very much want to see a game like Shadow of the Colossus for 360, and Im sure Microsoft will not disappoint. However, you can't just discount the games that are here for it right now. King Kong, though it may have its problems, is beautiful to behold, and would just skim the line of artistic, if only for the aesthetics alone. Call of Duty 2, though an FPS, is the most intense and bone rattling thing I have yet to experience on any platform, ever. The explosions, the screams, the atmosphere surrounding the entire game, it is all Spielberg movie quality here. Perfect Dark feels real, even though it is stylized. The way the camera moves, the sway of the gun, the slight blurs when you swing your head from side to side, I get the sensation that I am actually looking through these character's eyes.
Also, I feel I just need to come out right now and say you people need to stop pointing out hardware flaws before your feet get permanently lodged down your throats. Have we forgotten the phenomenal glitches in the original PS2, the fact that Sony knew about these problems well before release and did nothing, or the fact that they then charged us to fix them? The 360's problems are slight and virtually non existent compared to Sony's original fiasco. _________________

Who is pointing out hardware flaws?
The problem with most of the great 360 games is that they're already on the PC, with slightly less quality. Even Gears of War received a PC release date. Sure, you'll end up spending an arm and a leg to get the latest and greatest, but it's not only about the games. You can do far more than surf around Xbox Live Marketplace.
But as I stated before, I'm content with what my 360 has done so far. I'm just being realistic.

No one, yet, but in a thread about the latest gen systems (especially XBox) it's sure to come up. It has in the past, everytime, like clockwork, so I'm just getting it out of the way now in hopes of deterring a useless and overused argument point. _________________

I'm quite surprised that Nintendo is a little late this year. Gearheads will enjoy comparing all three consoles after Nintendo prints the Revolution's stats, while gamers will take precious time on bragging and fighting about which console is better. The real war hasn't started yet. _________________ --Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas. Nintendo has always released their consoles a bit after the others. Well, except for the Gamecube. (in regards to the Xbox, not the Dreamcast and PS2) |

Well , I guess Nintendo still has a lot to prove then. More stuff up their sleeves, eh? Is releasing their consoles a little late than the others their S.O.P.? I wonder... _________________ --Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas. Nintendo has announced, they have not revealed everything there is to know about the Revolution yet. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Surprises, surprises. They're really good at that. And their games do prove something, too. Unlike Sony's PS which some say is all show and no go. But I doubt they'll repeat the same mistake this year.
If you'd let me choose, I'd pick the PS3, then the 360, then the Revolution. _________________ --Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas. But of a humble heart, the Lord wil not scorn, and from its abundance the mouth speaks.
