What is the best Manga comics books to read? I've been looking through several and I wanted to know what would be one of the best comics to check out... Simply from your experience... I have no knowledge of most manga comics... So, what does everyone here think? I've only checked out three or four... But I'm sure you all have read several more... What do all you think? What should I check out? |

The big question is, what kind of books/ movies do you like? If you know which genres of those you like, it makes it easier to decide which manga to look for. Think about it...adventure? Fantasy? Comedy? What? Hate to try and label stuff like that, but it's almost impossible to give you good recommendations otherwise... _________________ Disgaea's Overlords Dance in Worlds Beyond Infinity while Mifuyus Magical Multiplying Mole reads the epic Chronicles of Yord, and you learn that your Craving for Finding a Heart of Snow is Taboo in VG unless you dare undertake The Combine of Sin... |

Di Gi Charat - Koge-Donbo. (Comedy/Parody?) Do I need to explain myself on this one? If you see a book of this series at a store, buy it. They're rare 8D
Maniac Road - Shinsuke Kurihashi. (Comedy/Parody) lol Akibabara <3
Negima - Ken Akamatsu. (Comedy/Romance/Harem) I'd reccomend this mainly for character love over story. And if you have to read one thing by Ken Akamatsu, read Negima!
Anitque Bakery - Fumi Yoshinaga. (Drama? Hard to label it so far../Shounen ai in future volumes) I usually DISPISE bl with my heart and soul. Why? It's all the same. ALL THE SAME. But this one is good, the characters actually look like guys, Each chapter (So far) has it's own little story to it, AND it has a scratch and sniff cover. Strawberries~ <3

Seconded. What does Saiyuki fall under anyway? 8D; I always put it under the "HAWT MAN" category like any normal internet person would. _________________ |

I'll have to write these down... There's a lot. I was wondering: Does anyone know anything about the comic book entitled "Cross?" That's one of the few I've checked out, but not enough to know if it's worth reading.
Still, if anyone else has any more suggestions, please, tell me. |

Cross is good. It's abount a teenage exorcist (who for some reason dresses in the robes of a preist even though he is not one). He has several supernatural powers an for some reason his teacher is in love with him or something (though she's very young and pretty and nude/only in her bra an underoos a lot of the time). The art in my opinion is very good, though there are scenes that are quite grotesque (not art skill wise, but the actual subject manner).
I personally like it quite a bit though I think it ends up being one of thost things that you either really love or really hate, so I'd try reading a little bit of it in the bookstore before buying it. _________________

Well... I'll read stuff just as long as it's not occult/yaoi/yuri (or whatever you all call that junk) centered. Please warn me of any of that, because I do not want to waste my time looking at books of no interest to me... |

But see, I don't care about that stuff. So I don't see any need to suggest something containing that when I'm not going to check it out. |

The only manga I really followed closely was Love Hina. Now it's over, and the anime sucks. *sigh* |

The purpose for those short mangas were really promotion for its anime series, so they won't continue it after anime ends.
One major exception is Neon Genesis Evangelion. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |
