I don't watch award shows. Because as a rule I don't care. However, tonight there was nothing on, and a couple of my favorite men were up for awards, so...why not.

I didn't watch it all 'cause the movies sucked this year, but I watched the TV category 'cause TV was awesome this year.

Yay for Hugh Laurie. It was a toss up between him and Wentworth Miller for who I wanted to win best actor, and...he is a better actor, so I'm glad he won. Long as it didn't go to anyone from Lost or 24, I was good. His speech was funny too.

Who cares about actresses. Silly women. Geena Davis's speech sucked.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was prettier and better in Velvet Goldmine. Although I do like his normal voice, the speech sucked.

Lost just won 'cause Prison Break had only aired a few episodes by the time tapes had to be sent in. . . . . I hate Lost. Hate it. Ghey. Next year.

So much love for Anthony Hopkins. Every award should just go to him.

EDIT: And on a personal note, if he was there, which I have to assume he was given it was in LA, all the camera shots were on Wentworth and not a single one including RK. Blah. Dominic was in the intro. Sarah next to Went. Psh.

Award shows should last 10 minutes where they just read the winners and stick the camera on them for 30 seconds. The end.

Boo for brokeback mountain trash winning awards.

Walk the Line shouldn't have won either. It was trash.

I hadn't even heard of half the things being nominated. Maybe because I haven't had cable for four months or because even when I did, it didn't have any of the pay channels (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc.).

I didn't know Breakfast On Pluto had been nominated, though, whatever the dude's name is. Pity he didn't win.

Yeah he is. I saw Red Eye last week with my Cillian Murphy obsessed friend, whom I saw Breakfast On Pluto with. Wasn't overly fond of it (except for the fact it starts as a stupid romance and then gets much more interesting in comparison). He was creepy in that, but extremely fun in Breakfast on Pluto. Made a lovely tranny, and I loved the character. Kinda cute in it, too, but maybe that was just the tranny in him.

He really plays a good freaky, weird guy. Slightly reminds me of the dude who played in "Willard"....whats-his-face.

I don't watch the Oscars or Golden Globes any more....It kinda gets annoying after a while having actors pat themselves on the back for doing "such a good" job. I mean, yeah, some performances were impressive, but that doesn't exactly merit the tawdry behavior the Globes/Oscars have accumulated.

That's why I liked Jonathan Rhys Meyers. 'Cause he looked and sounded like he could give a fuck about it, his speech was like 30 seconds long in a completely bored voice, and ended with "yeah, I guess that's it *walks away*". But that's just Jonathan.
