Who Is More The Absolute Image Of Evil?

You might ask yourself how this relates to TV, and I'll tell you. Yesterday, bored out of my mind, I went flipping through the channels and landed on PBS where, lo and behold, there stood Teletubbies, all waddling around with their strange symbol-heads and television tummies like evil creatures from hell. And it occured to me...why the hell is this show on tv? It does nothing good for young children, merely terrifying.

So, a: decide which one is more evil, and b: discuss evil "educational television" characters from your past and present.

i've always been a little afraid of the teletubbies, they're creepy little...things that live in a place were a decapetated baby is the sun. And they just look creepy.

Honestly? I think Barney is more horrible in the sense that the values he teaches are horrible. If you ever notice it, all the kids on that show are generic, always happy...There are no personality differences, and when one kid gets "sad" on the show, like some meanie kicked his puppy or stole his ice cream or something, he gets scorned by Barney. It's like showing emotion and originality is not allowed. And Barney also constitutes stealing. Think about it. There was this one episode (when I'm sick at home I watch PBS, okay?) and Barney stole this thing from this kid for a long term use and the little people on the show asked him what he was doing and he was like: "It's borrowing."

OMG, Barney teaches bad values! W00t!

Teletubbies...man, I really think they don't teach a damn thing. It's like a stoner's paradise, sure, but that's about all it is. I mean, what's even the point of having that show when all the likkle kids who watch it are terrified?

Both. Barney teaches bad stuff (like stealing as mentioned in an earilier post), and those teletubbies teach nothing. But the scary thing is, my siblings all used to love to watch that show, and they even had teletubbie teddies. Thank goodness they don't watch it anymore...

The Teletubbies are evil because they have television on their stomachs. How do they get cable? Those horrid antennaes on their heads received the signals and then get transmitted to their bellies. I bet they're radiated. Plus, they don't use the safeguard parenting feature on their televisions so that means that they watch Ten and Playboy TV backstage Grr!

Barney? Young little kids are obsessed with killing him. They have that annoying saying, I'm sure you know of it. I'm not sure what else is good of Barney, but he tells you that you can make 'Alphabet Soup' with styrofam letters.

I was one of those kids who sang songs about death to Barney. My god, that was like a favorite pastime for us wee little kindygardeners. We'd start swinging and as we were doing so would seen the tic-tac-toe version of "kill Barney." Have you heard it? Chances are, yes, but you have forgotten.

I must say, I still watch Arthur on PBS...I love that show. It has great values and I never get sick of the plot...even if I've seen it more than enough times, I never have grown old of it--though periodically I do wish that Arthur would graduate from the fourth grade unto fifth.

I personally don't like when people talk about how little kiddie shows are evil. I mean. C'mon guys. You watched em, I watched em. It's so Grade 4 to diss shows like that...............with the exception of The Wiggles. Those guys are scary. Especially the circled one. Wouldn't wanna wake up to that guy in the morning. *shudders*

If you mean I watched Teletubbies out of pure, sheer, unadulturated boredom, then yes. But you know, I never liked Barney or Teletubbies. I mean, I understand your point, there are some who become hypocritical, but really, I never liked BARN or TT. They both frightened me as a child.

I'm making a short post to contribute to this, but I think Barney was evil. Not just because he's always happy, which really pisses me off, but because he's Barney! AND the fact that I was simply infatuated with him when I was little! EVERYTHING WAS FRICKIN BARNEY! God, I must have been so stupid when I was little! >< Glad I don't watch that anymore. *oi*
