Internet In Schools

Lol. Maybe it's just my school. but..why is the internet soo crappy?! i mean it doesnt let you on anything! specially MSN. im actually lucky it lets me on here. it used to let me on myspace through mrnewguy.com butt...they found out. lol. anywaaay. anyone else's school internet rubbish?

And that comes a surprise? I think not. Internet access from schools is meant to be used for school-related purposes.

Using the Internet for fun while at school (i.e., during class) is like making personal phone calls from a company phone while on-the-clock. It's a pure and simple no-no.

Don't like it? It sucks, yes, but too bad.

We have it at my school and it's alright. If I could find a way to load msn there then it would be fine. I usually could but it seems like they blocked it now. Also couldn't acces FAC at first but found a way and now it let's us.

We have a local the students can use at lunch time to go on the comp and do what they want on the comp (with some restrictions of couyrse. Still have the rules up and the block)
and the library too but it's a little more strict and they can get a lil annoying by times too. <_<

but yeah, my school's cool on that.

They blocked Hotmail, Yahoo, Habbo Hotel and all the regualr porn sites but that's about it. I can still goon all my regular forums 'n s**t.

We can use anything except personal messengers like AIM, YIM and MSN.
Apart from that we can use it for anything. Not having the messengers doesn't even matter because we have school email, Virtual Workspace e.t.c.

They block everything at my school. They use a program called Bess to disallow access to everything from newgrounds to Google Images. :rolleyes:

at my school they have renamed it intranet WTF?

i know weird. i can get on this site at school and the teachers havent noticed yet. ^_^

you actually can't.... In my school you can do whatever you please in the computers, the only thing is that the teacher unplugs the main network cable from the server until everyone has finished their assignments, after that we got internet....

In uni the speeds are pretty fast, but in the dorms it's unreal. I know people who'd kill for dial-up. Laughing

it's not just for learning in schools, they let us get on it for fun when we were finished with work in the class. but my school still sucked.

The worst my school did was set it so google image search automatically filtered out porn, but that caan be changed manually anyway.

My school doesn't care. 8D There's various reasons for it, but they're probably not applicable to many other schools. :0
