ok every1 i really want to write a new story but i am having a block...any1 have any ideas that would make a good book? tell me them here!

ehm... maybe this thread would go better in 'fanfiction', but oh well.

i say that the best way to figure out ideas is to just like, start at one topic from a book or something, and then start thinking about all ways it could be done differently, yadyada, until you have an idea for a story. like with me, i had watched a horror movie, then got started thinking on that topic, and came up with an idea for a story.

or, jsut like sit and listen to music for a while and like, wonder about different things until you find something kind of insteresting to write about.

I find it helpful if you have a basic idea, like the type of topics silver_dreams listed, and then think about your characters. Is there a clear baddie vs goodie? Who's your main character? What are they like, how would they react to any given situation, why are they who they are? This is more helpful when writing fanfic, but hey. Might help with Original. ^^ I know some authors keep an 'Ideas Folder' or little notes of quick ideas/plot bunnies, so you never know when an idea is going to come to you and then grow.
