"We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister
Meh, lots of other one hit wonders, but I suppose it depends on what you consider a hit. Number 1, top ten, top 40... I love how even the VH1 list had bands that had other hits. Dumbasses. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

o twisted sister was a one-hit wonder? lol i didn't know that! i love "we're not gonna take it", and i know a couple of their other songs.
and yea i wasn't sure how exactly to define a one-hit wonder. some of the bands i listed had that really popular hit, then maybe another single or two, but not as popular. i always think of one-hit wonders as the songs that everybody knows, but most people don't know the artist. like everyone knows "my own worst enemy" by lit, but a lot of people might not know the artist or any other of their songs (...i have all their cds. used to be a big fan of them in 6th and 7th grade) _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

VH1 was such a typically American list, though. Who cares if they went on to be huge for another ten years in England, they only had one US hit. Triple platinum in four other countries? Not in the US, doesn't count.
Tuff only had one "hit". Don't remember how high it got in the charts, but it took 'em forever to be signed and they made it just as grunge kicked everyone's ass. Just jogged my memory with their new song "Dear Jani Lane". Much love for Tuff. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Hey, they've got a song on the metal sludge CD (Hey, that's what I call Sludge!). It's called... "No Turning Back". S'ok. A little bit heavy for my tastes, but not bad at all. I just dig the Stevie Rachelle/Tuff, Metal Skool, Kevin Dubrow, Funny Money, etc. tracks more. The whole album's really strong.
Methinks I'm gonna start a CD review thread... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
