Do you have any idea how incredibly annoying it is to work 15 hours on a picture only to have someone steal it and claim it as their own? [i]No you don't[/i]. You were the one [i]stealing[/i], and hearing undeserved praise. You need to know there are punishments for actions as offensive as that. For those of us who spend hours and hours pouring your heart into something, it becomes like a part of ourselves, an extension per say. And when someone comes along and degrades all of that by posting it as theirs, we make sure to see that the offender is punished. There is catharsis in that. The artist whom you ripped off is entitled to the satisfaction of knowing you can't ever post here again. That is what you get and what you deserve. [b]Fan Art thieves should not be tolerated[/b].

If you were allowed back on just because youy say you are sorry, that would [i]condone[/i] all art thieves and give the rest of us no reason at all to share our work as we would have a legitimate fear of people like you ripping us off.

I can't say. Nor do I know much of what went down (outside of what's been said).

I could try to say something profound, like you can have our forgiveness but you're still bound to the consequences of what you did, but I always sound preachy whenever I try to do that.

Judging by the date of your post, would I be correct or wrong to assume you were kicked recently (i.e. within a week)? If so then this would be the worst time to ask if you could come back, because it's still fresh on somebody's memory. On the other hand, if you were kicked a long time ago (months/years), then you might have a better chance at being let back in.

I agree with Rachel. I write programs occasionally, not many, just a few small modding utilities for a fangroup. One time I found a beta version for one of my programs available on some fan site . . . I sent them a kindly worded e-mail saying to take it down & update with a newer (more importantly, public) version, but internally I was really, really mad at seeing it there in the first place. Programming is an art too . . . .

And I agree with Silverdreams. If it's bye-bye for you -- Guest_artist, whomever you were -- then I guess it's bye-bye and you should probably look elsewhere for places to post pictures.

And my apologies if I've said anything stupid, I have trouble talking about subjects like these.

Guest_artist, don't get mad at us for sticking by the rules, that can't possibly help your prospects any. If you must get mad at someone, get mad at those friends who you let abuse your account, or maybe just resolve to not let anyone else have access to an account of yours again.

basically: it doesn't matter HOW stolen art got onto your account, only that it's on.

Really smart there, art thief. Insulting us repeatedly. Oh yeah, that's really going to make the rules change and make up for what YOU did. You see, I don't believe for a minute it was your 'friend' who posted those. Passing blame and insulting others.
Unlike some, I'm not feeling [i]at all [/i]sorry for you. You stole someone's hard work and then make pot shots at our art talents. I bet yours were not much to speak of anyways since you felt in necessary to steal someone elses. You've changed your story, insulted members and ripped people's work. I hope [i]NO[/i] fan art community accepts you.

I don't feel it was harsh at all. If they stole art, the likelihood of them being a repeat offender is high. I've helped several sites in the past clean up art thieves, and one thing I've learned is they do it again...and again and again. What is keeping them from doing it on another art community?
Nothing.
Not guilt. Not respect. Not fear.
They just see it as this victimless crime, when it isn't. Its something psychological when a person justifies it to themselves so they dont carry guilt.
An art thief may say they are sorry, and a few may be, but just from this person comments you can tell (like how they try to transfer blame) that they dont really care about the community. And thats why no community should accept them. They will simply do it again for the attention they so dearly want. Why else steal the art?
How is this person ever going to learn to stop being so selfish if they were to be let back in? I know that they wont because the rules standing, but unfortunately the rules here cant prevent them from just finding another place to be a repeat offender.
If the art thief even reads this, I want to impart to them the seriousness of the injury they have committed to the artist they ripped from. They deserved credit for their hard work, and you not. No matter how many stolen pictures you post, you will never have that talent, only the talent to aggravate and upset others. Not only that, but passing blame only makes you weak and even more unrespectable.
If my words seem harsh to other members, just try and put yourself in the position of all of the artists ripped out there. Everyone has a right to be angry.
