Howl's Moving Castle

Hayao Miyazaki has done it again. He has created another great film that has both romance and adventure all in one. I just watched it yesterday and it was the best. I won't tell any spoilers but I will say that anyone who loved Spirited Away must buy this film.

To me the best part of the whole film was Calcifer a fire demon who powers the castle. If you have seen it you know what I mean. He's got spark. Laughing

I thought it was okay. :/ I bought it about a month ago. It's interesting, and I like how this movie had an obvious climax (unlike Kiki's Delivery Service; the ending was so unexpected because there wasn't really any build up to it... Neutral

).

I still need to read the book it's based on.

I think this is one of the best movies Miyazaki has made since Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Plenty of action, a bit of romance and an awesome storyline. I think my favorite part was what happened to the big bad witch in the end. No spoilers coming from me folks, but in my opinion, she deserved it.

I'd have to disagree that HMC was one his better movies...I mean like HMC most of the way through, but the ending was just too weird for taste...I read the book first and just adored it...maybe that's why the movie really didn't impress me. <_<

Great movie! I really loved the music, the hair freakout made the movie for me xD The whole thing did seem a little too fast-paced but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

It's definately a great movie. It is chalked full of comedy and quick action compared to the slower Spirited Away. At times that's alright but some could say it might have had a rushed feeling about it too.

Ive heard of this movie but ive never seen it.

I think it is on tonami on cartoonnetwork isnt it.

i think i might rent it or something if you say it is a good move.

Actually HMC isn't one of the Miyazaki films lined up to be shown on CN. <_<

Just curious, do you mean they're going to be showing more Miyazaki movies on CN? I remember them showing Spirtied Away, but that's the only one I know of.

I loved Howl's Moving Castle! The first time I watched it I fell in love. I think I've already watched it in English, Japanese, and French. I liked all the voices for each version but personally I like Sophie's voice in French the best. My favorite character would have to be Calcifer, the coolios fire followed by Howl. *Holds back squealing like a fangirl* Sorry but I just love this movie! I gotta watch it again soon.

Howl's moving castle is deffinatly an improvment on spirited away. Although i love spirited away too.
