Who hasn't heard of it yet? IGN's article:

It also scored the cover story on the recent issue of Play magazine. According to Clover Studios, they originally wanted to make a nature-themed game featuring a wolf as the character and awesome realistic graphics to help portray the beauty of nature. But they realized that current hardware wouldn't be strong enough, so they had to debate how else to fulfill the goal of portraying a beautiful Nature. During one of the conferences, one of the graphic artists was painting a doodle of Ametarasu (sp) and one of the team commented, basically, "what if we could make a game look like that?" .

That's what got them started on the engine, but it wasn't until later when they added the "Celestial Brush" play mechanic (again, inspired by painting) that they figured out exactly where they wanted to go with it.

Okami is said to be arriving soon, around the same time as Kingdom Hearts 2.

I also spotted an online petition to see Okami also released on the 'Cube just a moment ago.

Any thoughts?

I'd really like to try it because it's a lot better than a lot of the games that have been coming out lately.

I remember seeing a quick picture of this in an article months ago. Whether it's something I'll want to pick up in future or not I'm not sure.

Ooh, I've wanted to buy this game FOREVER. x( Whenever I went to the Gamestore, they were like "WE DON'T HAVE IT YET CAN I INTREST YOU IN A COPY OF (bad rpg)?". Lame.

But man, this game looks beautiful. Just gives me goosebumps looking at pictures. I like the way flowers spring up behind the wolf. =D

I keep checking our local store's RedDotNet info kiosks, it lists Okami on the "Search" page, but... no confirmed release date!

Kingdom Hearts 2 also turns up on its Search page, and it even says "Coming March 29" (or was it the 30th?).

Anyway. Is it just me, or is it like the Year of the Wolf or something? Sly Cooper 3 had you riding a wolf in one mission, Twilight Princess sees Link turned into a wolf, and Okami is all about its wolf...

It's going to be a wild ride, for sure. Smile

I want to play just for the painting feel it has.

lol, the kanji has furigana. In that case, that game would be easy to understand... seems like it was designed to be directed at younger players. :0 But games have no age limit... 8D (Oh wait, there's the M/17+ games...)

I wanna play~ It looks so unique in regards to the graphics. Nevermind the fact that I barely know the plot. X]
