Scratch Art! (something New! To This Site!)

Howdy everyone: I noticed that there is NO scratch art on this site anywhere! so let me share with you a sample of this interesting style! Its basicly a black over coat of some sorta ink (i think) and then underneath its a color you scratch out. Think of shading a picture with detail backwards. Im not the best scratch artist and its been awhile since I did any but here it goes!

Ps: you can buy sheets of this "black paper" or make your own with crayon and a indian ink overlay. Use a sharp object too scratch out your picture (tooth pick, or maybe a pin might work, or a scratching tool.) You don't have to be all that good to get decent results! But l've seen some that look so fantasic!

Oooh, that sounds like fun!! I'd probably suck hardcore at it, though... but actually, I used to do that as a kid all the time... color a page with multicolored crayons, color it all over with a black crayon, and then scratch out a little picture... hmm... maybe I'll have to try it again... I wish I wouldn't have thrown out all of my crayons now *sigh*

Scratch art . . . also referred to as scratch[i]board[/i]. I like the medium, but I haven't had experience with it in a long time.

There are some. I remember an artist uploading at least one amazing piece a year or so ago. No idea if it still exists, but I'm pretty sure he only had a couple submissions. Hmm

Oh god, last time i did one of those i was in 2nd or 3rd grade. wow, i really want to do one now though. Maybe sometime when i get some extra cash on me i'll get a few different colored sheets. The nice bronze, then the silver, and the mult, bright colored ones they have. That's the one i used when i was little.


I can't do anything realistic though like that damn lion (I approved that by the way! Nice!) but the checkmate one fallen posted from that one user, if my came up with an idea and put my mind to it might be able to do something similar to that. Nothing to realistic though. i'm not to good at realistic.
