Already amde a topic about the world cup. Just scroll down. You stated UK as a team, but for the World Cup we split into England, Scotland, Wales, The republic of Ireland and Norhten Ireland

And theres about 32 teams competing, much more than 5. Yes, I believe the finals begin soon, the group stages!

The group stages always promise surprise. I haven't taken a hugr interest in it, but I reckon teams such as Greece will cause a huge upset. Not many people outside Europe realise they are currently the European chamions, having won Euro 2004 in a shocking game with portugal wasn't it? The hosts...

But it will also be good to see how squads cope this year. England for example, with Sven taking his last competion with them, took a rish in taking youn Theo Waldcott, who made his england debut 2 days ago, before his club debut! And Rooney is likely to be out of the competion, But could destroy his career if he runs into it... Confused

So yes, A good competion I believe.

Republic of Ireland isn't a part of the UK.

Anyway there seem to be a lot of teams there this year that could win it. Brazil, Argentina, and Ive heard Italy have a good chance. Brazil always have a chance of winning though. England seem to have a really strong team but they never seem to work well together, and if Im correct there are questions whether Gerard will be able to play. Rooney is good to go though, I think.

Somebody I know said that they got a tip off that Italy could win it but I dont really know. A lot of teams have a good chance.

It has begun. First blood to Germany. I'm backing England all the way, until of coruse they get knocked out (if...Must remeber to say if). Still, its pretty amzaing the amount of people who think England can win it. Last world cup they came close, and the team may have strenghtened but Sven has taken on a number of massive gambles. For example, picking Waldcott over Defoe. Speaking as an Arsenal fan, i'm delighted fir him, but as an England fan...it should have been Defoe.

I watched two games so far. Really interesting and caught and held my gaze.

Germany beat Costa Rica.
England beat...errr, someone.
Sweden and Trinidad tied at 0-0, but Trinidad was really happy at the end while Sweden fans were all like "ahhh Sad". This game was fun to watch this morning. So, Trinidad is the smallest nation to qualify into FIFA!

Do you guys know what the times are for the games in California?

Roughly guessing, California would be maybe 8-10 hours behind Germany, so you're looking at like 5am in the morning by my reckoning. That's if the games were shown live though, might just get a highlight reel later in the day.

I dunno, maybe there's someone with more accurate timings. Confused
